A moment of Enlightenmint

03/23/2023

Our next Palm Harbor Museum Presents on Wed., April 5th at 6:30 PM at the Palm Harbor Library, promises to be a special program with Terry Fortner and Bob Fortner with CARING FOR CALADESI. Discover through photographs and stories some of the history of Caladesi Island, its beautiful and essential natural habitat, and the work of the environmentalists, rangers, supporters, and caretakers of the island who keep it pristine and one of the natural treasures of our coast.

Caladesi Island’s homesteader, Henry Scharrer, was a self-taught naturalist whose daughter, Myrtle Scharrer Betz grew up with her father’s passion to protect this precious island off the coast of Clearwater/Dunedin Florida that today is Caladesi Island State Park. Today, Friends of the Island Parks shares the same mission of preserving and protecting both Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands.

Terry Fortner—granddaughter of Myrtle Scharrer Betz, and Rev. Bob Fortner, Vice President of the Friends of the Island Parks, will describe how Caladesi Island was and is now given the care it so rightly deserves. All are welcome to this event at no charge. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are not required, but help us plan. We would be grateful if you reserve your spot at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/palm-harbor-museum-presents-terry-bob-fortner-caring-for-caladesi-tickets-580708433557

Sometimes it is important to rise up a little higher to get a bigger perspective. Remember basically all of the media's job is to get the attention of the most people possible to sell them stuff. Our job is to keep a Spiritual perspective. And yes, it is difficult in down times but those are the times we most need to remember our principles. Here's to looking up with you!

And, for our "really, I am glad you told me moment" from the Grand Canyon south rim (not kidding).😎

Whoever therefore will humble himself like this little child, shall be great in the kingdom of heaven.- Matthew 18:4
Blessed are the humble, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.- Matthew 5:3

This kingdom is at hand in the midst of us and yet few are eager to enter into it.

Unless you change and become like little children you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

Humbling thoughts, aren't they?

We are back! As you may know I stopped publishing this page a few years ago to focus my energy on Unity of Palm Harbor. Now that I am a minister emeritus (retired that is) I want to start sharing some spiritual Light again.

You are the light of the world. Shine on!

If you would grow in understanding of spiritual things, become as a little child and let the universal Spirit of Good teach you. – Myrtle Fillmore
