Parents and grandparents! The Clearwater Chapter of the American Guild of Organists has a great event for school-aged youth. Join us for an action-packed morning on Saturday September 12th, where you will get hands-on experience with one of the world's most amazing musical machines: the pipe organ. Learn about -- and assemble -- a real pipe organ from its parts (from OrgelKids). Play the instrument and watch a silent film with live organ accompaniment. Breakfast and lunch are included with your $10 registration. Open to all students in grades 3-10. Previous music education not required. Choir Potluck and First Rehearsal is Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in Reister Hall. Please sign up on the sheet in the choir room or contact the Choirmaster Kevin Johnson through the church office and be sure to list what dish you will bring. New members are welcome. The ability to match pitch and have some music reading skill is required. Choir rehearsals will continue weekly on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m.

Lectio Poetica, St. Alfred's Poetry Group, is back! Join Fr. Peter, Fr. Dale, and local poet Susan Spear on Friday, Sep. 4th, 1:00-2:15 p.m. in the Parish Library. The group will meet to read and discuss one or two poems. Lectio Poetica will continue monthly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays.

Did you know there is a national shortage of blood donations? St. Alfred's hosted the Bloodmobile last Sunday and eight generous people stepped forward to help. Thank you!
