A Prayer for September 11
Gracious God,
we remember with sorrow all who lost their lives on September 11,
and we hold before you their families, friends, and all whose lives were forever changed.
Receive those who died into your eternal embrace,
comfort those who mourn,
and strengthen those who continue to carry the wounds of that day.
Deliver us from hatred and violence,
give us courage to seek justice with mercy,
and make us instruments of your peace and reconciliation.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our peace. Amen.
