JOIN US FOR CHORAL EVENSONG
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 at 7 PM
Evensong is one of the most beloved of services in the Anglican Communion and beyond. The service is a sung version of Evening Prayer, which is the popular name for Vespers.

Sunday's Choral Evensong will feature the music of Irish composer Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924). The St. Margaret’s Choir will present Stanford’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis in G and his renowned Beati Quorum Via.

The performances of Raúl Prieto Ramírez, San Diego’s Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ, have been described as “sizzling,” “iconoclastic,” and “transcendent.” Performing a wide-ranging classical and popular repertoire on the pipe organ with the flair and bravado of a matador, this Spanish master has a riveting way of entertaining general audiences of
young and old, music experts and casual listeners, like remarkably few others. A champagne reception follows the concert.

PALM SPRINGS SYMPHONY PREVIEW CONCERT
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 7 PM

The Palm Springs Symphony will perform a specially curated program of classical favorites at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Palm Desert. The performance is part of the church’s Grand Reopening Week, celebrating the completion of its newly remodeled facilities.

The program will feature a vibrant selection of works, including overtures by Strauss, Mozart, and Bizet, two Puccini arias, Irish Suite, Part 1 by Leroy Anderson, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Second Movement, and several surprise favorites.

This performance serves as a preview for the Symphony’s inaugural season launch on December 7, 2025, at the historic Palm Springs Plaza Theatre.

There is no charge for the event, but a suggested donation of $20 would be appreciated.

A FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS

Sung by the St. Margaret’s Choir, A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a beloved annual tradition sharing the Christmas story and glorious music of the season. Begun in 1918 at King’s College Chapel, Cambridge, England, the festival has become world renowned.
