Day 2 of VBS 2026. As the week continues, we pray that every child attending VBS will come to know Jesus more deeply and discover that His light can transform their lives. We also thank God for the many volunteers, leaders, and families whose hard work and prayers make this ministry possible.

Scripture Readings

1 Kings 7:1–51
Acts 7:30–50
Psalm 128:1–6
Proverbs 16:31–33

Reflection

Today's readings remind us of the greatness of God, the importance of faithful obedience, and the blessings that come from walking in His ways. In 1 Kings 7, we see the completion of the magnificent work surrounding the Temple. Every detail was carefully crafted, reflecting God's holiness and the desire to honor Him with excellence. While the beauty of the Temple was impressive, it ultimately pointed to the greater truth that God desires hearts devoted to Him more than impressive structures or outward appearances.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your faithfulness throughout every generation. Thank You for revealing Yourself to Your people and for inviting us into a relationship with You through Jesus Christ. Help us to honor You not only with our words but with hearts that are fully devoted to Your will.

Teach us to walk in wisdom, humility, and obedience. May our lives reflect Your holiness and bring glory to Your name. Bless our families, strengthen our faith, and help us trust Your sovereign hand in every circumstance we face. When uncertainty surrounds us, remind us that You are in control and that Your plans are always good.

Give us the courage to stand for truth as Stephen did, the reverence to worship You sincerely, and the wisdom to follow Your ways all the days of our lives. May we experience the peace and joy that come from walking closely with You.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

First Baptist Palm Coast VBS 2026 – Day One Recap

Vacation Bible School 2026 at First Baptist Palm Coast kicked off with tremendous excitement, energy, and joy as children, volunteers, teachers, and families gathered for the first day of an incredible week centered on the theme β€œIllumination Station.”

First Baptist Worship Services – June 7, 2026

The worship services at First Baptist Palm Coast on June 7, 2026, were filled with excitement and anticipation as the church campus was beautifully decorated in preparation for Vacation Bible School. The colorful displays, creative decorations, and vibrant atmosphere served as a reminder of the week's theme: "Jesus Is the Light of the World."

Centered on John 8:12, where Jesus declared, β€œI am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life,” the theme focuses on shining a light on who Jesus truly is. In a world often marked by confusion, uncertainty, and spiritual darkness, Jesus stands as the only true source of hope, truth, salvation, and eternal life.

Throughout the services, the decorations and visual displays pointed to the powerful truth that Jesus illuminates the path for all who trust in Him. Just as light reveals what cannot be seen in darkness, Christ reveals God's love, grace, and plan for humanity. He calls people out of darkness and into a personal relationship with Him, transforming lives through His saving power.

As the congregation gathered for worship, there was a sense of joyful expectation for the upcoming VBS week. The church united in prayer for the children, families, volunteers, teachers, and leaders who will participate. The desire is that every child who attends will come to understand who Jesus is, experience His love, and hear the life-changing message of the Gospel.

May this VBS week be a time when the light of Christ shines brightly throughout First Baptist Palm Coast and into the lives of everyone who enters its doors. As believers, we are reminded not only to follow the Light of the World but also to reflect His light to others so that they may see Jesus and be drawn to Him.

"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Reflection

Today's readings remind us that God is the true foundation for every work, every ministry, and every life. In 1 Kings, we see Solomon preparing for and building the Temple, a magnificent structure dedicated to the worship of God. While the Temple required careful planning, skilled labor, and great resources, its ultimate purpose was to honor the Lord and provide a place where His people could worship Him. The account reminds us that our greatest accomplishments are meaningful only when they are centered on God's purposes.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Word and for the reminders found in today's readings. Help us to build our lives, our families, and our church upon the solid foundation of Your truth. Teach us to depend upon You in all that we do, knowing that lasting success comes only through Your blessing.

Give us the courage of Stephen to stand faithfully for Christ and to proclaim Your truth with grace and conviction. Guard our hearts and our tongues from words that divide, and help us instead to speak words that encourage, strengthen, and bring peace.

Bless our families and our church as we seek to honor You. May everything we build be for Your glory and according to Your will. Guide us each day to walk in wisdom, humility, and obedience.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen
