My dad once told me that even our neighbors said my mom wouldn’t be able to raise a child. When she found out she was pregnant, doctors warned that “someone like her” could never manage parenthood. Everyone doubted her ability to love and care for a baby. But they were all wrong. My mom’s name is Julie. She’s the strongest woman I know. She taught me how to ride a bike, running beside me until I could pedal on my own. She sat with me through every homework assignment, never once losing patience. When my graduation came, she helped me pick out my suit, smiling like it was the proudest moment of her life. Years have passed, and now I’m an adult — a pediatrician who gets to help children every day. And every time I see a child smile, I think of her. Of the love she gave me. Of the strength she proved. Of the smile that showed the world love can do what no one believes possible. ❤️
