Why is it so important to ensure that our parishes and schools are safe environments for everyone?
Maintaining the highest standards of a safe environment is essential in all the parishes, schools and ministries of the Diocese of Palm Beach because the Church’s mission is founded upon the God-given dignity of every human person, especially the most vulnerable. Our parishes and schools are not merely institutions; they are communities of faith and learning where children, families and adults must be able to trust that their well-being is protected and that they are treated with respect, care and compassion. Clear policies, comprehensive formation and vigilant oversight reflect the Church’s moral obligation to prevent harm, foster healthy relationships and ensure that all ministry and educational activities are carried out with integrity. By taking safe environment standards seriously, our parishes and schools bear credible witness to the Gospel and demonstrate that care, accountability and respect are not optional but essential elements of authentic Christian life.
