Maybe this is the last time I call out the Church.
Or maybe it’s not.
Maybe I’m just tired enough—heartbroken enough—to stop worrying about being liked, and start worrying about being faithful.
Because here’s what I know:
Silence has never saved a single child.
We say we’re pro-life.
We rally.
We post.
We vote.
We claim to value every heartbeat.
Every child.
Every soul.
But where are we when that baby is born into poverty?
Into addiction?
Into generational trauma and a system that was broken before they ever took their first breath?
Where is the Church then?
We’re loud in the womb.
Silent in the courtroom.
Absent in the visitation room.
Too busy on Sunday morning to notice the foster mama crying in the back pew because no one asked how she was holding up after another failed placement.
We’ll advocate for the unborn—
But will we fight for the 4-year-old bouncing between homes?
Will we fight for the teen in foster care who has never had a birthday party?
Will we show up for the mama who didn’t choose abortion but is now drowning without support?
Because being pro-life isn’t about one issue.
It’s about every life.
The addicted mother.
The incarcerated father.
The caseworker with 40 kids on her desk and no time to breathe.
The toddler whose eyes have seen more than yours ever will.
Don’t tell me you’re pro-life if you won’t open your door.
Don’t tell me you value life if your actions stop at birth.
Jesus didn’t tell us to be pro-birth.
He told us to lay down our lives.
To feed.
To clothe.
To visit.
To welcome.
And maybe it’s time we stop asking God where the Church is—and start realizing we are it.
So yes, I’m going to say it:
The Church is pro-life until the baby is born.
And I’m tired.
Tired of the applause when I adopt,
But the silence when I beg for better resources.
Tired of the “you’re amazing” comments—
When the truth is, this shouldn’t fall on a handful of us.
This is the call for all of us.
Not just to care.
But to carry.
To step into the mess.
To show up, again and again, for the life we said mattered.
Because if we’re going to wear the name of Jesus—
It’s time we start living like He did.
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17
