Sara Josephson, 58, of Interlachen FL died unexpectedly on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville FL.

Born October 17, 1967, in Princeton, IL to Roger and Jane Josephson. Growing up Sara was very involved in The Evangelical Covenant Church, where she eventually became a member.

After graduating from Princeton High School in 1986, Sara attended Greenville College in Greenville, IL, where she graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry.

After a decade living and working in Chapel Hill, NC, while cheering on her favorite basketball team from UNC, she moved to Florida to be near family. The past 20 years have been spent with Sara as the Administrative Assistant at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, in Palatka FL. She loved and cared for each and every boy that passed through her office door like they were her own.

Sara became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Palatka, where she served as deacon for several years. She was a faithful children's Sunday School teacher, and lead women's Bible Study.

Sara was a 34 year member of P.E.O., a philanthropic educational organization that helps support women financially to obtain their college degrees.

Sara is survived by her mother, Jane Josephson, of Interlachen FL, sister, Sue Josephson Colyott (Dave Colyott), of Inverness IL, niece, Alexis Colyott, of Palatka FL, many loving family members and countless, devoted friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Josephson, and nephew, Caleb Colyott.

Services for Sara will be held at the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch Chapel on August 22, 2026, at 3pm.

Sara will be laid to rest on her birthday, October 17, 2026, in her hometown of Princeton, IL, where her Celebration of Life will be at the Oakland Cemetery Chapel at 11am.

All those who loved Sara, laughed with Sara, and were better for having a relationship with Sara are invited to attend the services.
