Spiritual Battles

3. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
4. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5. casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”
II Corinthians 10:3-5

The Bible says there is nothing new under the sun. That includes how we fight our spiritual battles. Everyday, we fight them at work, at home, with friends, family, co-workers, and everything in between.
The problem is, we use fleshly tactics that result in a complete waste of time or a bandaid to cover up the problem. The result is another miserable day where we’re left drained and aggravated. We become prisoners to a secular world, because we’re using the wrong weapons.

These verses tell us very plainly that we cannot win if we are fighting our battles this way. I am a big advocate for fixing our minds on Christ and the positive things of life. I’m often told “I am the way I am; I can’t help it” or “God made me this way.”

No He didn’t.

This is a lie that Satan has convinced us to believe, and we’re functioning under a stronghold. The first step is to stop believing the lie, and realize we need God to help us break the cycle. This is the hardest step because it means humbling ourselves and admitting we can’t get it done. We must look at it like an addiction. It isn't viewed that way, but it's harming your body all the same. Negativity is a habit, therefore, positivity can be a habit too. But it takes work.
I want to urge you today to take the first step in allowing God to take control of your life. Stop allowing Satan to dictate your mind and continuing in the cycle of unhappiness. Joy is attainable, but you must be willing to put yourself second.

"A Living Salty Minute"

“He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:27-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These verses bring to light the fact that God gave us two ears and one mouth. It says the man who has knowledge spares his words........this speaks volumes, because a lot of times we always have something to say lol. But it says even a fool who can shut his mouth is counted wise. Proverbs‬ ‭17:24‬ says "Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.”

As we get prepared for what the day holds remember if we are seeking God, and want his wisdom, guidance and direction we need to know when to speak and also be silent.......because wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding

Hope y'all have a great day!

Day 1…Again

Today is the day that everyone decides to have a fresh start.
“New year, new me.”
“Day 1 of the rest of my life.”

I was thinking about what mine would be and all I could think of was having to start over and lose this weight…again. Then it dawned on me.

How many of our “new” year resolutions are actually just “day 1, again’s”?

I don’t say this to be pessimistic about how many times we fail; it’s actually quite the opposite. This life offers second chances, and third, and fourth, and however many we need.

That’s beautiful!

I’m reminded of my walk with God and how many times I have to hit the reset button and try again. Imagine only having one shot at your Christian walk. I’d be in big trouble!

I read something a few days ago that really stuck with me. It said “He’s an ‘I don’t care how far you’ve run, just come home’ kinda God.”

Failure in our Christian walk is inevitable, and while it’s not optimal to have “day 1, again’s” over and over, they’re readily available. God wants you to reach out and ask Him for a fresh start, but you have to make that choice.
So don’t be too scared to reach out to Him. It’s past time that we learn to humble ourselves, grab our “day 1, again” card, and face it with a smile.

Please know that you have my support. I’d love to be a part of your “day 1, again”. If I can pray with you, or you need someone to talk with, please feel free to contact me. I hope you all have a blessed 2022.

“What Are You Worried About?”

As humans, it’s easy for us to continue worrying about something. God reminds us again and again that we must have faith in Him…especially in His timing. We don’t always understand, and we’re not always patient, but God will come through for you in the best way (I promise!). Today, I pray specifically for those of us that are worried about something, and just need a little faith to see it through.

Dear God,
Thank you for the blessings You have already given us. Help us to see our positives instead of our negatives. Please help us through our current struggles. Help us to have faith in You and Your Word. I pray that we will all remember to make a constant, conscious decision to allow You to handle it, and only step in if You tell us to do so.
Amen.

30: “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31: “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
32: These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
33: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34: “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:30-34‬

I pray you all have a blessed day!

Hey there! My name is Travis Haines. I am a husband and a father, and love every minute of it. I currently serve at Word of Faith Bible Church in Crescent City. I thank God that he has given me the opportunity to teach his word in the church the past couple of years. I have always had a heart for teens and young adults. I enjoy challenging them to study God’s word and to help them realize this world is not our home. God has started to turn my focus on fatherhood and the men of the church, so we will see what he has in store for me.

Hello. My name is Kristie Haines. I am the wife of Travis Haines and we have two beautiful children, Cayden and Ryah. I am a homeschool mom and love anything that has to do with teaching and parenting. God has recently placed a burden on my heart for other young moms. I hope to be a light and encouragement to them in some fashion.
