Romans 12:1-3, 12-31
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Yesterday at about 3pm I was ready to take up arms at the behest of anyone trumpeting; “PATRIOTS, TO ARMS!” I am still very angry and am ready to fight every bit of the way I felt at 9:15am 24 years ago this day.
My only recourse, in times like this, is to turn to GOD’s Word. I scanned my memory of where GOD had to take personal, righteous, vengeance on evil.
He brought judgment on a world full of violence by global floods, saving only 8 souls who obeyed Him.
He brought judgement on the works of man when they sought to build a tower to Heaven.
He brought down fire and brimstone on S***m, Gomorrah and the other cities of the plain.
He hardened Pharaoh’s heart to show His displeasure among the Egyptian people and their idolatry.
He brought wrath on the children of disobedience in the wilderness.
He brought down the walls of Jericho.
From that moment on, GOD would encourage Joshua and the people to personally take on their enemies. GOD would intervene on several occasions but for the most part He would raise up Judges, Kings and Prophets to be the bearers of His Sword against Israel’s enemies. Eventually the people of Israel would become enemies of GOD and judgement would come from Assyria and even Babylon.
Don’t be foolish, GOD will avenge.
Judah would return only to be a vassal to every empire that would rise after Persia falls to the Greeks.
Our blessed Savior is born, ministers, teaches, heals, raises the dead and is crucified. He had every right to call down legions of Angels to destroy with a vengeance that the world had never seen throughout all history. Yet He submitted to the arms of His Father and gave up the ghost. Three days later He rose victorious over the grave and our sins would be remembered no more. On the 40th day after He ascended into Heaven to be forever at His Father’s right hand. He left with this admonition to His disciples;
Luke 24:46-51
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
After Pentecost, James would be beheaded.
Steven would be stoned and Saul would persecute but never is there a proclamation for the Church to assassinate Saul. Rather, Jesus would intervene with Saul on his way to arrest Christians in Damascus. Paul (formally Saul) would evangelize most of the Roman Empire before he is beheaded on Nero’s chopping block. Never did Paul call for vengeance nor did any of the 12 Apostles of Christ who would give up their own lives for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul did stress that government is given the sword NOT THE CHURCH, to render judgement on evil deeds..
So, Paul leaves this us with this;
Romans 12:12-21
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
With all said, let this be known; it is time for our people to hold our government accountable to input justice where justice should be served.
To the Church, it is our responsibility to protect our families and allow government to work while we hold Mr Kirk’s family in prayer.
To our Pastors, call your congregations to repentance. Stop this heresy of prosperity, it is sending souls to Hell!
Hold up the Word of GOD in your family devotions, schools and workplaces.
Hold fast until the Great and notable day of Christ, knowing that when it comes, all vengeance for the shed blood of righteous Able to all of the martyrs to this present generation.
He will recompense wrath. He and only He!
