We are ordinary people who have been transformed by an extraordinary gospel – Jesus Christ died and was raised so that sinners would be reconciled to God. This is the good news we have a passion to proclaim, live, and share. We invite you to join us for our next worship service.

By becoming a slave himself, Jesus endured suffering and carried our sin on the cross. We can endure in our suffering today by looking to the Christ who saved us from our sin.

The big idea of this week's message is that God's elect exiles are not of this world, but they are sent into the nations to glorify God. Simply put, we are "not of" but we are "sent into." This sermon explains how Peter describes the fact that we are "not of this world" in 1 Peter 2:11 and then how Peter encourages Christians to live in this world based upon their calling in 1 Peter 2:12.

Just like the way the world treated Jesus, the world will hate Christ's followers and the world will applaud Christ followers. Christians should live in the world in order to bring glory to God and hope that people from all nations will come to faith in Jesus so that on the day of visitation they too will give glory to God.

Former Embassy elder Ryan Felabom preaches this Sunday (Feb. 26, 2023) on 1 Peter 1:3-5. The passage shows us how even in the readers’ profound grief or suffering, God deserves praise. Ryan teaches us how when we begin to praise God, especially amidst challenges, our eyes will be lifted up to see the fullness of God that removes the enormity of our circumstances.
