As summer break is on the horizon you might feel like right now is the calm before the chaos. This summer I encourage you to have grace for yourself. Give grace to your kids. Make memories. Have fun. They only stay little for a little while. We are all just trying to love Jesus and keep our kids alive. Here’s to a great summer with our squirrels!

Are you overwhelmed by the constant mess? Me too. Take a moment and be reminded you are not alone. All is Mommas are with you and of course so is Jesus.

“Lord, we stand in the midst of our beautiful, messy lives and give thanks to you for all of it. Open our eyes to see the many evidences of your glory that are hidden within mud puddles, garden beds, boxes of crayons, spilled milk, and piles up dress-up clothes. We thank you for the abundant, exuberant, effervescent life happening all around us.”

I look around my house and there are piles everywhere. Piles of clothes. Piles of toys. Piles of books. There is a corner full of stuffed animals from our “puppet party time.” There are things like spatulas mixed in with an alarm clock and a...

So true parents!! Don’t underestimate your impact in the most important place... your home.

So true parents!! Don’t underestimate your impact in the most important place... your home.

KINGDOM WORK | When I’m making sure they have clean underwear and sandwich bread so I can send lunch to school the next day, I don’t feel like I’m doing “Kingdom work.” When I’m going back to the kitchen to get one of them a water refill at dinner, I don’t feel like I’m doing “Kingdom work.” When I’m breaking up fights, or cleaning out my van, or lugging the grocery bags into the house, it doesn’t feel like it will impact eternity.

It feels like I’m just taking care of what’s right in front of me. It feels normal. Routine. Average. Sometimes annoying. Other times overwhelming. Like I’m just doing what I need to before I have to do the next thing.

But do you want to hear something absolutely nuts? You’re shaping eternity by loving those kids.

Because each act of your sacrificial love points back to our Heavenly Father... even pouring the last of the orange juice into their cup when you just wanted to drink it yourself. 😉

Your regular day to day love paints this picture at the center of all of creation... a parent’s unceasing love for their child.

You’re showing the value of relationships. You’re putting the heart of God on display. You really are doing Kingdom work. ...It just felt like you were clipping their toenails.

Sunday was so great! I served second service in Lil Buds and had a great time praying with our preschoolers. Many kids wanted to pray for sick family members so we led these sweet hearts in prayer for healing over their family. We also prayed that the promises of God would be revealed to each child as they grow. If you heard J's message in the main hall you know he encouraged us in the promises and callings God has on our life. I encourage you, as parents, to pray your child recieves great promises from God and walks in the callings and purpose God has for his/her life. Happy Tuesday!! xo

My 5 year old just woke up and asked me to pray for her because she had scary things in her head. First. 😢 But mostly. 🙌🏻 Parents, hold tight to the small moments you feel like you are doing a great job, because you are doing a great job!! Did I say my 5 year old asked for prayer, unprompted?!
