Old Path Holiness Church opened as Believer’s Assembly in Christ in June of 1987. We gathered and worshiped in our Pastor’s home for several services, after which time we moved into a storefront in Gurley, Al. We held services there for 10 years, during which time we changed the name to Old Path Holiness to better reflect our fundamentalist doctrine and separate us from the rising prosperity movem

ent. After which time the Lord opened the way for us to obtain property in Paint Rock, Al. We have been in this location for 13 years and been worshiping together as a church for 23 years. This church is the result of a time spent in fasting and prayer where God moved on our pastor Bro. Payton to build “a refuge for His people.” These years, (though filled with many trials and obstacles) has revealed in a very clear way the glory and power of Jesus Christ our Savior. We have been eyewitnesses to God’s power, whither it be in redemption, deliverance, healing or one of the many other gifts that He is still raining upon His church even today. God has proven Himself faithful in every way, and through our weakness and failures has made us ever the stronger. We invite you too to come, “ taste and see that the Lord is good!” Become a part of the history of our church and experience first hand the power and glory of God.

Come ye Church, while ye may
For time, is truly flying
Let’s work the works of God today
Cause tomorrows are for dying

Our branch is withering on the Vine
Take heed brothers lest we die
And leave no children to press the wine
And cause our Lord to sigh

He charged us firm to do our deeds
Lest He purge us from our call
Do we now resolve to be just weeds
Or do we give to Him our all

Our hourglass has almost shed its sand
And the Church is stripped and barren
For the falling away has robbed the land
Of all who should be bearing

The modern Church has taught us all
That only God should do the dying
That we should all just have a ball
But brothers, they are lying

For if we choose to trade our cross
So that we may become our own masters
Then the hope of baring His children is loss
And all we raise are bastards

Concerning your love, remember your first
And be faithful brides to our king
For on the horizon, He is surely to burst
May we have enumerable children to sing

The Garden’s Prayer

I stepped into my garden to whisper a prayer,
and nature stretched gently to welcome me there.
The flowers spray fragrance, sweet smells filled the air,
and the leaves they waved softly, praises from everywhere.

The path to the bench was a hymn all its own,
every petal and breeze in a worshipful tone.
Creation was singing before I ever bowed —
a quiet, holy chorus without a single sound.

So, I knelt among the humble, on the cool, waiting sod,
and joined the living orchestra that worships only God.
Nature lifted its praise; I lifted mine too —
and the garden became a sanctuary, a holy place true
