St Andrew Lutheran Church-Paint Creek

St Andrew Lutheran Church-Paint Creek We are located East of McDade (7 miles) and North of Paige (7 miles). St Andrew celebrated 100 years of Service to God in April 2012.

On April 14, 1912 the church was officially organized under the leadership of Missionary Pastor Hugo Krienke. It was named St Andrew Lutheran Church of Paint Creek and twelve families signed the constitution and church was held once a month. Today, services are at 10am with Pastor Lee Eschberger and Willard Rother serving the congregation. Pastor Lee usually has the first two Sundays with Communio

n and Rother the last two Sundays. 5th Sundays are rotated between the two and is followed by a delicious pot luck dinner with fellowship and often with music. Visitors are always welcome.

Please continue to pray for Johnny Hallmark. He is recuperating at home after surgery to mend a broken hip. Barbara needs your prayers also, as she is the primary caregiver.

Last Sunday 6 of our newest members - Carl Dahlstrom, Randy Copeland, Lisa Paczkowski, Lynn Huerta, Joey Diezenske and Otto Marosko - did their Affirmation of Faith, from Luther's small catechism. Jamine Stokes also received her confirmation certificate.

Sympathy is extended to the Baca/Mitschke/Gillen families in the loss of their loved one, Troy Mitschke. The family has also shared their thanks and appreciation for everyone’s love and support during this time of sorry.

We also want to keep the Marosko family in our prayers for their loss as well.

Congratulations to our young member, Kolden, who graduated from Bastrop High school. And to Alyssa, who just finished her freshman year at Bastrop High and received awards for Perfect Attendance and the AB Honor roll.

Thank you to the following:
David Kohler - for obtaining and replacing the lights in the large hall
Barbara and Johnny Hallmark - for the new entrance table and bench. Additionally, Barbara continues to provide beautiful flowers for the altar and cleans the church with Johnny.
Red and Johnny - for mowing and w**d eating the cemetery before the Memorial Day weekend
Ora and Randy - for putting the flags on the veterans' graves in honor of the service to our country

Prayers were answered!!! Lisa Paczkowski's daughter finally had her major surgery. A transplant was not needed. A 20.5 Ib. tumor was removed from her liver, leaving just enough liver to regenerate itself. Thanks be to God!

The church/cemetery clean up day was well attended and went smoothly. There were 3 separate projects at the church:
- New ramp on the east side
- Trimming of low-hanging limbs
- Painting of the cross on the church (not completed due to the wind picking up)

Our LWR quilting project has ended for the year with 56 quilts made during the 12-week period. The volunteers spect 349.5 hours during this session.

The quest for auction items for the Hamburger Supper is underway.

A copy of the new constitution adopted at our annual meeting this year is available.
