Sunday Mass
9:30am in English | 11:30am in Spanish

Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Saturday 11:00am - 12:00pm or by appointment

Sacrament of Baptism:
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday please register at the parish office three months prior

Sacrament of Matrimony:
Register at least six months prio

Welcome to St. Certainly you will see from the following pages that St. Just an hour and twenty minutes from Palm Beach, St. Mary's becomes a world unto its own on the southern part of Lake Okeechobee surrounded by sugar cane and wetlands! Home to agricultural America, its new inhabitants since the late 1960's have changed the face of this small town forever! Coming from Central and South American as well as from Mexico and the Islands, our People mingle many rich cultures and folklore into the rich and dark soil of this All American land! I invite all of you to read on and then come and visit us! Our differences make a difference and we could certainly use your help in any way you can to assist us in our God given vocation of helping others help themselves! Our new building is now open so that both English and Spanish services can be held in the proper church setting. We are well on our way, but your continued financial help can maintain our beautiful new church.

Lectura del santo evangelio según san Lucas 12,49-53
En aquel tiempo, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: «He venido a prender fuego en el mundo, ¡y ojalá estuviera ya ardiendo! Tengo que pasar por un bautismo, ¡y qué angustia hasta que se cumpla! ¿Pensáis que he venido a traer al mundo paz? No, sino división. En adelante, una familia de cinco estará dividida: tres contra dos y dos contra tres; estarán divididos el padre contra el hijo y el hijo contra el padre, la madre contra la hija y la hija contra la madre, la suegra contra la nuera y la nuera contra la suegra.»

*El mensaje de Jesús en su evangelio no puede ser confundido con un buenismo fácil. No podemos hacerlo compatible con cualquier realidad de nuestra vida. Ser cristiano supone rechazar lo que nos aleja de Dios, lo que es un obstáculo en el camino de seguimiento de Jesús. Eso significa que si vivimos de verdad nuestra fe, resultaremos incómodos a un mundo adormecido en su bienestar y su egoísmo. Esa incomodidad se puede dar también dentro de nuestras propias familias, con nuestros amigos o compañeros,… La división no es deseable, pero tampoco podemos abandonar nuestro seguimiento de Jesús por aceptar la propuesta de nuestro mundo.
