Revisiting our Membership vows:

Do you believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit? I Do

"Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty." Psalm 104:1

Summer is a time when we 'can' actually slow down enough to notice things. David wrote this psalm and he's just... overwhelmed. Not in a stressed way, but in an awe-struck way. He's outside, he's paying attention, and he can't help but see God everywhere.

The trees. The water. The way things grow. The generosity of it all.

It's easy though, in our fast paced lives to miss this. To miss noticing. We get so caught up in productivity and planning that we forget to actually look at what God has made. Like, really look.

Here's what strikes us about creation: it doesn't require anything from us except attention. We don't have to earn it or understand it or photograph it for validation. It's just there, generous and free, inviting us to see something of who God is.

When we watch something grow - a plant, a kid, a relationship - we see God's patience. When we notice how intricate a flower is, how much thought went into the details nobody really sees, we see God's artistry. When we feel the sun or taste good food or hear birds at dawn, we're encountering generosity.

Creation reveals something we keep forgetting: God is for us. God loves beauty, abundance, and generosity - and invites us to reflect that character.

So maybe this week, what if we just... noticed? Not as a spiritual discipline or a checkbox. Just noticed. What does paying attention to creation reveal about God to you? What does it inspire you want to become?

Where do you encounter God most easily in creation? What does that tell you about Him - or about yourselves?
