Navigating life is not always easy. There are seasons and circumstances we encounter that we have never faced before, and we often find ourselves needing direction.

Jonah learned the importance of yielding to God’s direction. When God called him to go to Nineveh, Jonah chose to run in the opposite direction. Instead of yielding to God’s plan, he followed his own.
God has a plan when He calls us. He is not looking for our ability as much as He is looking for our availability. While we may have our own dreams, goals, and plans for life, God has the right of way.
Jonah also reminds us that we have a choice. God does not force us to follow Him. We can resist His leading, but it is always better to yield to God than to run from Him.
After troubled waters, Jonah received the call a second time. This time, he was willing to obey.
The best time to yield to God is the first time He calls.
“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.”
Jonah 3:2

Are we willing to lay aside our plans and yield to His leadership?

There are many paths we can take in life, but when it comes to Heaven, there is only ONE way.
Life can be difficult to navigate. There are moments when we are unsure of which direction to take, but God has never left us without direction. Jesus made the way to the Father clear.
In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus is not one of many ways to Heaven. He is THE way. Our good works cannot save us, our righteousness cannot give us access to God, and there is no other path that leads to the Father. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
He is the WAY to follow, the TRUTH to believe, and the LIFE to live.
The world offers many directions, but eternity has one destination and one way to get there. Jesus Christ.
The most important question we can answer is not simply, “Which way am I going?” but, “Do I know Jesus?”

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Trusting the Lord means having confidence in Him even when life does not make sense and the path ahead is unclear. It is easy to rely on our own knowledge, experience, and plans, but God’s ways are higher than ours.
When facing an uncertain situation, we can choose to trust God instead of trying to figure everything out on our own. When we acknowledge Him and allow Him to lead, He promises to direct our paths.
God’s Word gives us promises we can stand on. John 5:24 reminds us that those who hear and believe have everlasting life. John 10:27-29 reminds us that His sheep are known by Him, follow Him, and are secure in His hand. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God is faithful to supply every need according to His riches in glory.
People may fail us. Circumstances may change. Our own understanding may be limited. But Jesus never fails.
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:6

God’s delays are not always God’s denials.
There may be times when it feels like God has forgotten, but Scripture reminds us again and again that God remembers.

God remembered Noah in the ark.
God remembered Abraham and answered his prayers concerning Lot.
God remembered Rachel in her long season of waiting.
God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

God has not forgotten His people, His promises, or the prayers brought before Him.
And there is one thing God chooses not to remember:
“And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 10:17
What a precious truth. Through Jesus Christ, our sins can be forgiven and remembered no more.
Thank God for a God who remembers.
