We invite you to join us this morning at Immanuel Baptist Church, located at 3465 Buckner Lane in Paducah.

Spiritual Formation Classes begin at 9:30 am. If you are a guest, a new member, or are curious about trying out a new class, stop by the Welcome Desk for information on the Spiritual Formation classes and locations.

Worship begins at 10:45 am. On the first Sunday of each month, our children remain in ‘big church’
worship and do not dismiss for children’s worship.

Parents of young children: Relax! God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house, encourage honoring others worshipping near you instead. All are welcome here!

Some Helps:
• Sing the hymns, pray, and voice the responses.
Children learn how to worship by copying you.

• Quietly explain what is going on in worship and the actions of the pastor, ushers, choir, etc. (prayers, songs, offering, Lord’s Supper, Baptism, things heard during the sermon, etc.)

• You may want to sit toward the front where it is easier for children to see and hear what is going on in the front. They often tire of seeing the backs of others’ heads.

• Your child is invited to draw pictures, doodle, or take notes. You may also visit the children’s worship shelf outside the church libraty for books, coloring sheets, etc. There are baskets of children’s worship aides (such as these I Spy cards) at each entrance of the sanctuary. Help yourself or ask an usher for assistance.

• If you have to leave the service with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back. As Jesus said, “let the children come to me.”

Members of Our Church Family: The presence of children is a gift to the church. They are a reminder that we are growing! Smile at them, high five them, thank them for being a part of worship today. Remember, children learn how to worship by watching those around them. Thank you for helping us welcome the children among us and giving a smile or word of encouragement to their parents.

A couple weeks ago, Immanuel’s kiddos had so much fun on their church scavenger hunt, exploring different spaces around Immanuel and learning more about the many ways our church works together to worship, serve, and care for one another.

Along the way, they learned about baptism and communion, explored the places and people who help lead us in worship - including our organ and organist 🎶 - and discovered some of the many volunteers and ministries that help serve our congregation each week.

What a fun way to help our children see that church is so much more than a building. It’s a community of people, each using their gifts to serve God and one another. 🫶🏼 We love seeing our kids learn more about their church home - and have a whole lot of fun while doing it!

Join us Saturday, September 12th, from 10:00 am –1:00 pm in the Immanuel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall for one of our favorite fall traditions!

Come shop for seasonal décor, handmade items, gifts for family, friends and teachers, and lots of other treasures - all while supporting the ministries of Immanuel.

Did you know that proceeds from the Fall Bazaar help make summer church camp more affordable for our children and youth? Bazaar funds also support local missions and other ministries of the church, so every purchase helps make a difference.

Our Welcome to Immanuel class is a special opportunity to learn more about our church - its mission, ministries, history, and future.

The class begins on Sunday, September 13th, and will meet for three consecutive Sundays during the Sunday school hour (9:30–10:30 am) in the church library. We will gather around the table to share conversation and answer questions. Please let us know if you can attend. We look forward to getting to know you better!

Gracious God,
in rushing waters and in dry wilderness, in every season and circumstance, we need your sustaining word.

By the power of your Holy Spirit, let us hear you so that we may repent and believe and see anew how the time is fulfilled and the kingdom has come near; in Jesus Christ your Son, our Savior. Amen.

From the desk of Pastor Christina: “In March 2024, Immanuel created the Education Wing Renovation Committee (EWRC) to discern the needs and possible solutions for our Children’s Education Space. In April, the committee invited the congregation to participate in a series of discovery sessions to share their thoughts, concerns, and needs.

In August 2024, through their work with the Finance Committee, a motion was made to hire Jeff Cantor, an architect with PFGW Architects, to begin a journey alongside the EWRC and create a vision plan for the renovation. This has been a long and laborious undertaking, but on August 9, 2026, the EWRC was able to present an evening with the architect during which this vision plan was shared with the Immanuel congregation. That evening was not the end of the process. It was the beginning of the conversation.

There is much to consider:
* How much will it cost to complete the master plan?
* How much is the congregation prepared to spend or give toward renovating the Education Wing?
* How will renovation impact our operations, especially our weekday preschool?
* What will we discover when we open the walls?
And I could go on and on.
