Dear Parishioners,
Happy St. Patrickās Day!
As you well know, we are in the midst of a life-changing experience with the Coronavirus pandemic.
During this time, here at Corpus Christi, we will continue to serve you and be there for you as best we can.
Ā· Corpus Christi Church will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for those who would like to come and spend time privately in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
Ā· The parish office will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ā· Confessions will continue to be available every day at 5 p.m.
Ā· The priests are available seven days a week for anybody who has an emergency or a need to talk with a priest.
Ā· If anybody is seriously ill, and would need a priest at any time, please contact us at Corpus Christi Parish.
Ā· During this emergency there will be no formal funeral Masses, only burial services. Once the emergency has been lifted, we can then have our funeral and memorial Masses.
Ā· There will be no wedding Masses during this time of the emergency. If someone does want the Sacrament of Marriage during this time, they should contact one of the priests at Corpus Christi Parish.
Ā· There will be no baptisms scheduled during this time. If there is an emergency where a baptism is needed, please contact one of the priests at the parish.
I would like to encourage you to create for yourself sometime during the day that would be your formal spiritual time with our God and with our Jesus. I suggest the possibility of reading the daily Gospels or the Sunday readings, praying with your families, or joining yourself to the sacrifice of the Mass by participating in one of the online Mass opportunities.
The weekday and Sunday Mass will be livestreamed from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels via the LA Catholics page (facebook.com/lacatholics). For more information on additional Mass broadcasts on TV and radio, visit lacatholics.org/emergency.
Bishop Barron has daily Mass available on the Word on Fire community webpage (wordonfire.org).
My friends, I want you all to know, that I love you and Iām praying for you during this time. As your Pastor, I send you my blessing and the blessing of our Church and our Jesus.
May the good Lord watch over you and your family, and keep you safe, until we all meet again.
Let us pray for each other as we continue this journey.
