Generosity is the overflow of a heart that has been captured by grace. — Tim Keller

You could read every apologetics book ever written.

Or you could sit with Luke 24 and meet the risen Jesus yourself.

The evidence was always there.

So was He.

The best way to get to know Jesus this summer is to read the Bible. The hardest part is staying consistent when life gets in the way.

That’s why we’re doing it together, one passage, one short video from Pastor Justin, every morning all summer long.

We started yesterday, but it’s not too late. Join us at the link in our bio.

And if you know someone who should be reading with us this summer, send this to them!

📖 Summer in the Scriptures starts June 1.

92 days. 92 passages. Genesis to Revelation. Every morning, a short video from Pastor Justin to go with it.

This is how we’re spending the summer. We’d love for you to join us.

Two ways to sign up, link in bio, or tap “Summer in the Scriptures” on our Instagram profile to join the broadcast channel.

Drop a 📖 in the comments if you’re in. Send this to someone you want to read the Bible with this summer.

Our culture hands us identities early. We learn to define ourselves through career, performance, success, parenting, and achievement. None of those things are bad in themselves, and many of them are meaningful gifts. But they make terrible foundations to build your life on.

Eventually, every identity built on performance starts asking for more. More success, more achievement, more proof that you’re enough. The pressure never really stops.

Jesus starts somewhere different. Before anything else, before what you accomplish or how you’re perceived, he gives you an identity: you are light.
There’s more than building an impressive life. There’s a deeper way to live.

Money buys remarkable things. Security, options, access, comfort. Nobody’s arguing otherwise. But there’s a ceiling and it arrives at the most important questions. Peace with yourself. Forgiveness for the things you’ve done. The kind of integrity your kids will look back on. A settled sense of what your life was for. Bob Dylan put it plainly: “All the money you made will never buy back your soul.” Jesus said the same thing two thousand years earlier. That ceiling is worth finding before you’ve spent everything trying to push through it.

What are we doing with what we’ve been given?

The Palisades is one of the most resourced communities in the world. That’s not a criticism. It’s a question. To whom much is given, much is expected. Not as guilt. As invitation.

This week we talked about stewardship, which naturally brings us to consider not only what we are doing with our money, but of your life. Your time. Your influence. Your family. The things you’ve built and the legacy you’re leaving.

If the message landed, don’t let it stop there. Grab your journal and sit with these:

What has been given to me, materially, relationally, in opportunity?
What am I actually building it toward?
What’s one thing I can do this week to steward it better?

God is moving at Calvary, and your generosity is fueling it. 325 people at Easter. Record Sundays. A new Youth Pastor. We’re 86% to our annual goal and $187K from finishing the year strong. Swipe to see what’s happening, and consider how you can help carry it across the finish line.

Everyone in the Palisades has a plan. Not everyone has asked whether the plan is worth it.

Jesus put it plainly: what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? He might ask us today, what good is the house, the cars, the watches, the vacations, the perfect kids, if you’re empty on the inside?

So here’s the question: what are you actually chasing? And will it satisfy you when you finally get there?

Here’s the good news. If you don’t like your answer, just turn around. Grace is waiting.

Most of us treat prayer like a to-do list we hand God.

The Lord’s Prayer is something else entirely, it’s a reorientation. A daily reminder of who’s in charge, what you actually need, and why you don’t have to earn any of it.

Save this and try it on Tuesday (or everyday).
