Pa’auilo Hongwanji is having a general family service and collective memorial recognition to honor those in our sangha who have passed on while the temple has been closed.

It will be held December 12 at 2pm.

After the service we will have our temple cleanup and annual general member meeting. Please wear face masks, bring your own cleaning materials, and practice social distancing!

Also, we will do the same thing that we did last year for New Year’s Day: a bell ringing event to ring in the new year! To prevent a large gathering from spreading Covid, we won’t have a service but we will have a walk through bell ringing, incense offering, prizes and sake. Please come!

It will be held Jan 1, 2022 at 10am.

Unfortunately Covid numbers on island being what they are the Pa’auilo Hongwanji leadership has chosen cancel Sunday service for this month. We direct our members instead to the many online and zoom services being offered by various Hongwanji temples statewide every week. Stay safe everyone!

Pa’auilo Temple will begin in-person monthly services again in June. Thank you everyone for your patience and support! Here is the calendar for the rest of the year:

June 13 Family Service/re-opening 2pm
July 11 Obon and cemetery service 2pm
August 8 Hatsubon Services 2pm
September 12 Autumn Ohigan 2pm
October 10 Eitaikyo 2pm
November 14 Family Service 2pm
December TBA Bodhi Day 4 temple
