The members of our church exhibit faith and trust in our Lord. OUR COMMUNITY
We are proud to serve our small, lakeside community in Ozawkie. We are the only church within the city limits and enjoy being a part of Ozawkie. OZAWKIE UMC HISTORY
The city of Ozawkie itself has a very rich history and quite the church history as well. As for the Ozawkie United Methodist Church we know today, history begins in the early 1900s. In the 1930s, one of the many churches in the area, Pleasant View Chapel sold and left its money to the Ozawkie (Evangelical) United Brethren Church. When the Government Corps of Engineers decided to build Lake Perry, the town of Ozawkie relocated as well as our church. The first worship service at the new church, the one we congregate in today, was in 1967. In 1968 another change! By reason of a National merger of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Ozawkie United Methodist Church came into being. This Ozawkie United Methodist Church has exhibited so much Faith and Trust in the Lord, through the years - from even the beginning of a Chapel to the rising of a beautiful white steeple on the hill. The people of our history have been good to us. We are the Ozawkie Church, and we have pledged our lives to live with as much Courage and Faith as our forefathers had. We will serve God, as our founders did, and spread love and warmth to the Ozawkie community. May there always be an open door to all who seek God, especially the children. THE CHURCH TODAY
The Ozawkie United Methodist Church and its members continue to exhibit our faith and trust in our Lord and spread love and warmth to the Ozawkie community. We, the members, continue to keep our church active through dinners, Sunday School, church services, and our presence in the community. Ozawkie UMC is committed to spreading the word of God by discipline to both the nominally religious and those seeking a church home. We welcome you to join us in our church home!
