Ozawkie UMC is committed to spread

ing the word of God by discipline to both the nominally religious and those seeking a church home. WHAT WE DO
The members of our church exhibit faith and trust in our Lord. OUR COMMUNITY
We are proud to serve our small, lakeside community in Ozawkie. We are the only church within the city limits and enjoy being a part of Ozawkie. OZAWKIE UMC HISTORY
The city of Ozawkie itself has a very rich history and quite the church history as well. As for the Ozawkie United Methodist Church we know today, history begins in the early 1900s. In the 1930s, one of the many churches in the area, Pleasant View Chapel sold and left its money to the Ozawkie (Evangelical) United Brethren Church. When the Government Corps of Engineers decided to build Lake Perry, the town of Ozawkie relocated as well as our church. The first worship service at the new church, the one we congregate in today, was in 1967. In 1968 another change! By reason of a National merger of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Ozawkie United Methodist Church came into being. This Ozawkie United Methodist Church has exhibited so much Faith and Trust in the Lord, through the years - from even the beginning of a Chapel to the rising of a beautiful white steeple on the hill. The people of our history have been good to us. We are the Ozawkie Church, and we have pledged our lives to live with as much Courage and Faith as our forefathers had. We will serve God, as our founders did, and spread love and warmth to the Ozawkie community. May there always be an open door to all who seek God, especially the children. THE CHURCH TODAY

The Ozawkie United Methodist Church and its members continue to exhibit our faith and trust in our Lord and spread love and warmth to the Ozawkie community. We, the members, continue to keep our church active through dinners, Sunday School, church services, and our presence in the community. Ozawkie UMC is committed to spreading the word of God by discipline to both the nominally religious and those seeking a church home. We welcome you to join us in our church home!

A Final Service of Worship and Gratitude ⛪️🙏✝️🙌

On Sunday, March 16, at 9:00 AM, Ozawkie United Methodist Church will hold its final worship service.

Since 1967, our church has stood atop the hill in “new” Ozawkie, serving as a place of faith, fellowship, and community. As the only church within the city limits, we have been blessed to share in the joys and sorrows of our small lakeside town, offering a home for worship and discipleship.

Like many churches across the nation, we have faced challenges, and after much prayer and discernment, the decision was made to close our doors. While this chapter is coming to an end, the spirit of our church -- our faith, love, and shared commitment to Christ -- will live on in each of us.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” - Matthew 18:20

A church is not just its building -- it is the people, the faith we carry, and the love we share. We invite you to join us for one last worship service, as we come together in gratitude, reflection, and hope.

All are welcome. Let’s gather as a church family one more time.

A Message from Pastor Melinda:

Delaware Valley Parish Christian Friends - Welcome to Lent 2024

This Lent, we are following a theme of UP! Instead of what we might “Give Up” for Lent may we consider what we might “Start Up.”

Making time to nurture your spirit may require that you sacrifice other, less vital activities. The more time you commit to soul-nurturing activities, the happier and more relaxed you will become. The time you devote to enriching your spirit will rejuvenate you and help you create a more restful life.

This year we will try meeting virtually either on your computer or phone or tablet, or by calling in. You will need to use meeting ID for the session you attend. There will be two times each Wednesday 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Zoom is an online platform that supports both audio and video as well as call-in participation. If you haven’t ever tried a ZOOM meeting give it a test. You will need to install the Zoom Application on your computer or device. It isn’t hard, though it takes some time, and you will want to have it set up and ready to go BEFORE trying to join a Zoom meeting.

Additional information for these services are included in the comments below.
