Any person who really knows God in a deep way is deeply troubled about his or her sin. There is a certain obsession about it. They long to confess, long to repent, long to enjoy forgiveness, long to enjoy restoration.

Such a man was David. A man, it says, “after God’s own heart.” A man who pursued the heart of God, who pursued the will of God. A man who hated sin, even his own sin. That’s the kind of man we want to lead us into confession. A man who did sin, but hated it, a man who was obsessed with his own guilt and wanted deliverance from it. He is the man who can teach us about matters of confession.

See you tomorrow to learn how we confess our sins to God and reveal the nature of true repentance and forgiveness in our lives. Which will bring back that joy, peace, and rejoicing that God longs for us to have in our lives.
