It has been a record year, one that will make 2026 unforgettable. In January of this year, my mom, Dr. Linda Rainwater, died, and on Good Friday, I buried my dad, James Thrower. The year is only half over, and I have experienced a record year of grief personally.

It has been a record year of love and overwhelming support from my church family, First United Methodist Church of Ozark. I am grateful to serve as pastor of such a compassionate community of faith that walks alongside me during days of transition.

I am thankful to be reappointed to serve FUMC of Ozark for my 12th year. I served four years as associate pastor from 2008-2012 and was appointed seven years ago this month as pastor. On July 1, I will begin my eighth year serving as the pastor of this great church.

The year 2026 has not only been a record year of sorrow and grief but also a record year of love and support. I am extremely grateful. I thank God for you! To God be the glory! - Pastor Dr. Jason Thrower

Thank you to Mayor Charles Ward and Heather Cohen for joining us and taking the official measurement of our First Kids 10 Foot Sundae, that they built tonight!

The verse of the night was Psalm 34:8: 'Taste and see that the Lord is good.'

God doesn't want us to just hear other people talk about Him; He wants us to experience His love, kindness, and joy for ourselves! How do we 'taste' God's goodness? We don't chew on a Bible. We taste it by talking to Him in prayer, reading His promises, and trusting Him when we are scared. When you trust Him, you discover that His love is sweeter and better than the best scoop of ice cream on a hot summer day! 🍨

Tomorrow night First Kids will attempt to build Ozark’s BIGGEST ice cream sundae. Heather Cohen from the City of Ozark will be here to officially measure it!

Bring your friends, bring your appetite, and wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy. The fun begins at 5pm in the FLC Kitchen!

Congratulations to one of our Top Floor Youth, Kairos Moreno, on her AHSAA All-State Soccer Team Honorable Mention selection. She finished the season near the top of the state and top 80 in the nation with an impressive scoring record of over 30 goals, averaging well over 2 goals a game! 🦅⚽️
