A week ago we gathered in the Garden to talk about Scripture Memory. Gina shared with us three reasons to memorize scripture.

1. Scripture Equips Us to Stand Firm Against Temptation.
Ephesians 6:16-17, Psalm 119:11, Philippians 4:8
Scripture redirects our minds to the Truth.

2. Scripture Leads Us to Discern Truth in a Culture of Lies.
1 John 4:1, Mark 13:22, Colossians 2:3
God's Word is a plumb line by which we measure all things.

3. Scripture Helps Us Find Deeper Affection for Christ.
Colossians 3:16, Romans 12:1-2, Isaiah 26:3
Memorizing scripture builds intimacy with God. It helps us learn His heart and love and softens our hearts to the things of God.

We talked about growing in scripture memory, but not thinking of it as a to do list that wins us favor with God. He loves us!!! You are invited to memorize scripture with us this fall. We are working on Colossians 1:9-20, 27. If you have questions or need help, just ask!
