Sunday, August 23, 2026 | Our Spirit-filled worship experience, led by Reverend Tammy Brantley, focused on the theme of freedom and the power to rewrite personal narratives through faith. The sermon drew on the story of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, emphasizing that one’s past or the labels others give do not have to determine one’s destiny, as God can rewrite one’s story. The service included scripture readings, prayers, and a special prayer for children returning to school led by Reverend Dr. Kanika Jones. Announcements were made about upcoming events, including a fall sermon series on the book of Joshua and the reopening of the Alta area. The congregation celebrated August birthdays and concluded the day in fellowship with the leaders of the Mission Ministry, who sponsored a coffee-hour-style lunch.

Sunday, August 16, 2026 | this Sunday worship service focused on celebrating students and graduates, blessing backpacks, and reflecting on the theme of “The Dawn of a New Day”, the sermon, 4th in the series, by the same name, centered on the biblical account of Pentecost and the posture required to receive the Holy Spirit’s power, emphasizing unity, servanthood, and spiritual boldness. The service included scripture readings from Acts 2 and Joel 2, prayers for the community and those affected by an earthquake in Columbia, and a special recognition of students from pre-K through college. Students and graduates were individually acknowledged, and gifts were presented to those heading to college. The service also announced the recipients of the Walter Hampton Scholarship and included a call for volunteers for upcoming community events and worship roles. The congregation was encouraged to embrace the new day with the power of the Holy Spirit.
