“Pastor Rachel here, again with an update for tomorrow, Sunday, February 4, 2024 in a note from .

In-person worship has been CANCELLED. Our sanctuary and campus will be closed on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

This decision was not made lightly. We are taking extreme precaution for the safety of our entire faith community with the impending storm. Our campus, especially our sanctuary, is highly prone to flooding. Also, I would love for everyone to remain safely in their homes and not risk driving in the storm. Safety is our first priority!

Though we will not meet in-person, there will be a short, yet sacred, pre-recorded worship video that will go live on our YouTube page at 10:15am tomorrow, Sunday, February 4. Rev. Denyse will give her sermon and I will offer some prayers, scripture, and love to you all. With that, we will be moving Holy Communion to next Sunday, February 11.

If you are interested in experiencing an entire worship service, feel free to look through St. Paul’s YouTube channel, for every service over the past three years is available! For your convenience, can click here to be redirected to our YouTube channel.

And now, please help spread the word! Contact your friends and family who attend church regularly and let them know that we will not be meeting tomorrow. Not everyone will check their emails, so please spread the word!

Today, was Confirmation Sunday and we blessed and welcomed our newest members: Miss Rachel Duran, Miss Susan Santiago, and Mr. Daniel Tuazon. It was a beautiful day for the celebration, surrounded by a loving community of family, friends and SPUMC family.

October 23, 2022 - We are blessed to welcome Rev. Denyse Barnes, who is a part of our Conference (400+ churches) and has been appointed with the extension ministries as the Director of Justice and Compassion. In this position, Rev. Denyse champions justice for equal opportunities and rights for everyone, to include but not limited to accessibility for those less mobile, immigration, hunger and homelessness, and everything in between. She has chosen SPUMC of Oxnard as her home church, and in addition to worshipping with us, she will also be substitute preaching through Advent and March 2023, while Rev. Rachel is on maternity leave.

October 23, 2022 - Motivation for Giving. It’s the season of giving, and declaring your intent to give financially, as you’re led and able to do so. Rev. Rachel spoke on this today, and many found her explanation inspiring. Our weekly, monthly and special offerings help to not only maintain our beautiful sanctuary and out-buildings, but help us to extend our outreach within our community. These ways include the Tubbs Tutoring Ministry, Westminster Free Clinic, among others.

We are blessed to welcome Rev. Denyse Barnes, who has chosen SPUMC of Oxnard as her home church, and in addition to worshipping with us, she will also be substitute preaching during Advent through March 2023, while Rev. Rachel is on maternity leave.
