Donation Guidelines
Please donate clean, gently used, and working items such as:
• Clothing (all sizes, clean and in good condition)
• Shoes and boots
• Jackets and coats
• Handbags and accessories
• Jewelry
• Books, puzzles, and board games
• Toys (complete and clean)
• Baby items (excluding recalled or expired items)
• Kitchenware and dishes
• Small household items and décor
• Linens, towels, and blankets
• Sporting goods
• Small working electronics (with cords/accessories when possible)
• Holiday decorations
• Craft supplies
• Furniture in good condition (if space permits)
For the safety of our volunteers and shoppers, please do not donate:
• Broken, damaged, or heavily stained items
• Dirty or moldy items
• Mattresses or box springs
• Cribs that do not meet current safety standards
• Car seats (used)
• Helmets (used)
• Large appliances
• TVs or CRT monitors
• Hazardous materials, chemicals, or paint
• Medications or medical supplies
• Open or expired food
• Open cosmetics or personal care products
• Weapons, am******on, or fireworks
• Tires or automobile parts
• Items with strong odors (smoke, mildew, or pet odors)

The Los Angeles Buddhist Temple Coordinating Council (LABCC) has been conducting a special Buddhist summer youth program for 70 years where campers ages 8 through 13 enjoy nature, engage in meaningful activities, create lifelong memories with their fellow participants and learn a little Buddhism. LABCC is a consortium of temples in Southern California consisting of many Buddhist traditions, including our BCA Southern District temples, Higashi Honganji, Zenshuji (Zen), Koyasan (Shingon) and Nichiren. This year’s camp had 120 campers, almost an equal number of staff, and was held again at Camp Morning Star in the nearby San Bernardino National Forest. If your children are interested, please see two flyers for your reference.

Donation Appeal Request

LABCC kindly asks member temples to support this effort by sharing the appeal with your communities. Donations can be made through the GiveButter link included on the flyer and help us keep the camp program accessible and affordable for families. At the end of the camp season, we will provide a list of donors by temple for your records.
