The Kingdom of God is Power, not Talk!
- Brother Amartey
The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power (1 Cor 4:20). All power is given to Jesus (Matt 28:18-20). Jesus delegated this power to us (Luke 10:19). This power was demonstrated by Jesus and the apostles. Paul preached, not with the enticing words of man's wisdom but in the demonstration of the Spirit and power (1 Cor 2:4). By this power, Paul and Silas turned the whole world upside down in Ephesus (Acts 17:6). Even the Deacon, Philip, who later became Evangelist, was not left out. He went to Samaria and turned the whole city to Christ (Acts 8:4-8).
As it was then, so it is today! We need the power to minister effectively and powerfully. And God has given us the power. He says, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you (Acts 1:8). Mind you, the enduement of the Holy Spirit is for power to minister effectively. It is not for going around and speaking gibberish without interpretation. The real evidence of the enduement of the Holy Spirit is power! Power to proclaim the word with boldness and authority, with miracles and signs, to bring salvation, healing, deliverance and restoration.
Do you have the power? Every pastor who is truly called by God, must have the power. And every believer must have the power, too. You don't have to be a preacher to have the power. It is the gift of God for every true believer.
Sadly, much of the church is full of talk, with little or no power at all, and it makes me want to puke! Lord, help us! Remember, the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power and people must see this power if we want to win souls. It is the only effective way, not advertising, not gimmicks, not bazaars, not the many marketing techniques.
Do you have the power? Do demons recognize you as they did Paul? If your name is written in heaven, it will be known in hell, and Satan and his demons will know you and tremble (Luke 10:19 -20; Acts 19:15). They will hate you because they know you have the power to cast them out. Furthermore, you will minister effectively and win many souls for the kingdom.
In conclusion, let's proclaim the gospel with more power and less talk, "so that our faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (1 Cor 2:5).
