“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
Every church is made up of imperfect people. Pastors aren’t perfect. Members aren’t perfect. Leaders will make mistakes, and so will we.
Sometimes we will be hurt by someone in the church, and other times we may be the ones who hurt someone else.
That’s why forgiveness is so important in the body of Christ.
We all want grace when we fail, but sometimes we struggle to give that same grace to others.
Pride tells us, “They should apologize first. They were wrong. I shouldn’t have to make the first move.” But Christ calls us to something greater than pride.
Sometimes being who Christ has called us to be means swallowing our pride, laying down our right to be offended, and choosing forgiveness.
It means loving when it’s difficult and extending grace when it isn’t deserved.
