"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." — Matthew 4:19 (NIV)

Discipleship begins with an invitation. Before Jesus asked His followers to preach, teach, or perform miracles, He simply called them to follow Him. Peter and Andrew were ordinary fishermen going about their daily work when Jesus approached them.

His invitation was not based on their education, status, or achievements. It was based on His grace and His purpose for their lives.

That same invitation continues today. Jesus still calls ordinary people to an extraordinary journey of faith. Following Him is more than believing certain truths—it is choosing to walk with Him every day, learning from His example and allowing Him to shape your heart. A disciple is a learner, a follower, and someone whose life is being transformed by Christ.

Notice - that Jesus also promised a purpose: "I will send you out to fish for people."

He never calls us without also giving us a mission. As we grow in our relationship with Him, He changes our priorities, our character, and our desire to love and serve others.

Discipleship is not only about receiving from Christ; it is also about reflecting Christ to the world around us.

Following Jesus may require leaving behind habits, fears, or comforts that compete for first place in our hearts. Yet every step of obedience brings us closer to the One who knows us completely and loves us perfectly.

His call is not a burden but an invitation to experience life as it was meant to be lived—in fellowship with Him.

Today, remember that Jesus' invitation is personal. He knows your past, understands your present, and sees the future He is preparing for you.

His call is the same as it was beside the Sea of Galilee: "Come, follow Me."

Heart Of Worship (9-6-26)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

Every church is made up of imperfect people. Pastors aren’t perfect. Members aren’t perfect. Leaders will make mistakes, and so will we.

Sometimes we will be hurt by someone in the church, and other times we may be the ones who hurt someone else.

That’s why forgiveness is so important in the body of Christ.

We all want grace when we fail, but sometimes we struggle to give that same grace to others.

Pride tells us, “They should apologize first. They were wrong. I shouldn’t have to make the first move.” But Christ calls us to something greater than pride.

Sometimes being who Christ has called us to be means swallowing our pride, laying down our right to be offended, and choosing forgiveness.

It means loving when it’s difficult and extending grace when it isn’t deserved.
