Carolyn L. Banks, a late bloomer in the field of academics; however, once the journey began, the thirst for more kept growing. Obtaining the 1st Master’s degree in Psychology from NCCU in 2015, having all the classwork but unable to get licensure due to becoming the caregiver for a sibling, the choice to revamp and venture in another direction was inevitable. Entering the doors at Leonard Hall at ShawU in 2019, being referred to by so many alumni as a Beagle, a Master’s degree in Christian Education (M.A.C.E.) was achieved in 2021. Recently, the moving from candidate to recipient, the Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Christian Leadership and NexGen Ministry will be conferred on May 8, 2025, at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. I’m not sure what’s next for me, but I serve a God, Who is true to His Word, and He knows the plans He has for me; I am going to trust the process, and go where He leads me.
