I think we’ve spent too much time and energy on trying to find the next new thing in praise, worship, church, and success that we’ve gotten way too far from the foundation of Christ! I think we’ve gotten so involved in splitting theological hairs that we’ve gotten away from the very basics of what we as Christians are meant to do. I think we’ve allowed ourselves to get so involved in political matters that we’ve lost our identity in blending in with the world. Let’s get back to the basics. The great commission. Loving our neighbors. The golden rule. Seeking the lost. Giving hope. Praying and fasting rather than calling and gossiping. Lifting up rather than putting down. Worshiping God rather than man. Putting our faith and confidence in Christ alone and not a person. Focusing on praying fervent prayers that avail much! Praying more of the, “God, search me and know my heart”, rather than the critical prayer over your enemy. Let’s get back to the basics of life, a heart that is pure and a love that is blind. A faith that is fervently grounded in Christ. Hope that endures for all times! My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness! For we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Our righteousness is as filthy rags before Him, BUT, He has removed the filthy rags and clothed us in His righteousness! Let’s make this our prayer today! God bless you!

One of the things God has put on my heart in this time was not the focus on being furloughed but taking my skills and talents and using them to help others who are in need. He has said, “He who tries to save his own life will lose it but he who gives his life freely will gain eternal life”. Well, outside of remodeling the new house and moving from the old house, Amy Rhodes Boyd and I have been blessed with several opportunities to be a blessing to others and we have been equally blessed by others. God never fails us even in some of the toughest times. Perhaps we should all focus on how we can help others rather than on our own needs and desires. This is where fulfillment comes from. The giving and not receiving.

Praying for the hospital and those in it right now. The parking lot is packed and there’s hardly any room for patients coming in. Praying for my wife’s grandmother for a full and complete healing and recovery. We love you Ruby and we are praying for you!

You can’t go so far that Jesus can’t reach you. You can’t be so bad that Jesus can’t renew you. You can’t be so broken that Jesus can’t restore and renew you. You can’t go so wrong that He can’t make it right. There’s just one thing keeping it from happening...you! Surrender and let Him make your mess a message. Your test a testimony. Take you from a victim to a victor!
