EVERYTHING WE NEED

In January 2014, our water supply was affected by a chemical spill. A week later, we got the all clear to use our water; but even then, we couldn’t drink it. During that week, I learned a lot about the kindness of other people. I saw God’s blessings in the crates of bottled water we received for free. God was in the people who opened their homes to us so that we could take showers or wash clothes. My aunt and uncle, who lived outside the affected area, brought enough water for our family and for other people to whom my parents were reaching out.
Matthew 6:25–33 says that God knows all our needs and that we don’t have to worry about what we will drink or eat or wear. Verse 33 adds that when we seek the kingdom of God above all else, God will give us the things we need.
The week without water may not have been the cleanest or the easiest week of my life, but it taught me a lot about how God uses people to fulfill God’s purposes. No matter what the problem is, God is with us and cares for us.
