Owingsville United Methodist Church invites you to come rest in quiet reflection and private prayer this Ash Wednesday from 12 to 1 or 5 to 6. You can walk-in during those times to receive the ashes and communion or to simply sit in our sanctuary with the knowledge you are loved. All are welcome.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the 40 day Christian season of repentence, prayer, almsgiving, and fasting (or abstaining) in preparation for Easter. If you do not have a church home, we would love to have you come be with us!

At the beginning of a new year, many United Methodists renew their covenant with God with a Covenant Service and a recitation of the Wesley Covenant Prayer--a prayer which John Wesley adapted from the Puritan tradition.

The prayer invites us to rededicate our lives to serving as Jesus' representatives in the world. It invites us into participating in self-emptying love.

May the words inspire you and your spiritual journey in the new year. Blessings and Happy New Year.
