Dear Church family, I've spent the past couple of weeks attempting to sit down with most of you face to face and explain the circumstances surrounding my decision to step down as the lead pastor of Gospel Community Church. For those who are connected to the church, that I didn't get to meet with personally, I want you to know that there was no sin issue or scandal that led to this decision. There exists no ill will or unresolved issues within the staff, I simply am mentally and spiritually exhausted. What am I going to do now? My immediate plans are to REST! Ill work interpreting and spend as much time with my wife and children as I can. Church planting has taken its toll on my heart and my family, and I'm going to focus my attention there. What would I like for you to do? .... One, don't follow me out the door. The leader, sustainer, and savior of Gospel Community Church is not me... it is Jesus. My prayer is that you continue to glorify God, as you gather together, grow in faith and knowledge of God through His word, give of your time, talents, and resources for the furthering of His kingdom, and go to the nations with the good news of the Gospel beginning in your back yard. Two, deepen your resolve to be a committed member. The church needs you and your gifts to serve; maybe now more than ever. Three, pray. Pray for guidance, pray for your leaders, pray God is glorified. Lastly, WORSHIP! While the ending of a chapter can be sad, we have seen over and over, that God grows us by giving and taking away. Over the past 6 years God has done amazing things. God has given us a building. God has given us people. God has given us equipment, and on and on... How can we not but praise Him as he grows us in this new way!!! Ill end this post with this: serving the body of Christ as a church planter and pastor these past several years has been tough, its brought tears and toil, but it has been a joy and an honor to have labored alongside each of you for His glory. I look forward to seeing all God is going to do for, and through Gospel Community Church in the upcoming years. Run your race. God's word is true and He is faithful!
