Jabez Ministries was started in February 2003 in Inez, KY by William Goodwin and his amazing, prayer warrior, and wife, Judy. After his death, the ministry was moved to central KY and began a new mission under Larry and Kathy Belcher. The primary difference with this work is that most places say that you can have the good if you will come get them. This is not what we are. We have transported the
donations to the recipient from the beginning. It was a learning curve but today the ministry moves donated meats and other commodities via our own or mostly rented trucks into the mid southeast states of TN, KY, NC, IN and sometimes IL. We have been fortunate to have donors occasionally that took up the slack but I must say that God has been faithful to provide for this work and we have been blessed by the people we have come across in doing the work. We are beginning our 10th year in the fall of 2020. We started with one or 2 pallet combos of ham products. It grew to include chicken and God has seen fit to add eggs. It has grown from 2500 pounds in the beginning to many tons annually. We are just a couple of old people but we are dedicated and obedient to the belief that we are called to do this till we can't. We are grateful to our grandson, Austin, and his buddies who never say no when we call for help loading. We are also grateful to our partners that God has given us that pass overages our way. We currently work with many different, usually faith-based types of organizations that work with the homeless, halfway house type orgs that help offenders, drug/sober living type orgs that house groups of people trying to live sober, occasionally disaster relief and food pantries. We believe in the work that we do. We see God's handiwork in provision and believe/pray that we are doing our best to go where He would have us go. It is a learning experience that teaches that you have to love people where they are and all of us have a past. What matters now is where you are headed in the future. All of us have been that person laying beside the road needing help whether in spirit or physically. Someone has to be the Samaritan. We am grateful to serve and honored to be called to this. If you have read this far then you are interested in us for some reason. What ever that is, we are thankful that you are here. If you feel like you'd like to help financially with fuel for the trucks or rental, thank you. You can do that through Paypal. https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=RU3UWC4R4SA8G .Be blessed and we hope to see you soon.
