Dear Upward Families,

What an incredible season it has been! We are so grateful for your support, energy, and commitment to these athletes over the past few months. To cap off this amazing year, we are thrilled to invite you to our Upward Sunday Celebration on March 22nd!

Please review the details below to ensure a smooth morning for your family:

Service & Drop-Off Details:
The celebration will take place during our 11:00 AM service.
- Drop-Off Time: No later than 10:40 AM.
- Attire: Basketball players should wear their team jerseys (No shorts required). Cheer should wear full jersey with black leggings and make sure to bring their poms!
- Location: Please drop your children off at their designated rooms on the Sanctuary side of the church (not the gym). Look for the team posters displayed outside the doors!

During & After the Service:
The children will sit with their teams and coaches throughout the entire service. We ask that parents remain for the service. Immediately following the service, please head back to your child’s designated room to pick them up. Once you have gathered your athletes, the party begins!

Easter Egg Hunt Celebration:
Immediately after the service, join us on the gym side of the campus for:
* 🍔 Food & Fellowship
* 🏰 Bounce Houses
* 🥚 An Amazing Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt!

Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult to attend the post-service celebration.

You can pre-register for the Easter Egg Hunt below however it is not required to attend (helps with planning!)

Dear Upward Families,

​As we head into our final week of the season, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible journey this has been. It has been a true joy for all of us—coaches, referred, volunteers, and staff—to watch your children grow over these past few months.

​Whether it was a first basket made on the court or a perfectly timed cheer from the sidelines, the skill development has been impressive. More importantly, seeing their spiritual growth and how they’ve embraced the lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, and faith has been the highlight of our season. Thank you for sharing your kids with us!

Hi Upward Families,

Can you believe we are already heading into Week 5? The season is flying by, and the energy in the gym keeps getting better every Saturday.

More than the scoreboards, what has truly impressed us lately is the growth we’re seeing. From the basketball courts to the cheer squads, the technical skills are sharpening, but the spiritual growth is what really shines. Watching these kids practice sportsmanship, encourage their teammates, and lean into our weekly devotionals has been a joy for all our coaches and volunteers. We are so incredibly proud of them!

On the Menu: The "Pickle Burger" 🍔
If you’re a fan of the crunch, you do not want to miss this week’s Cafe Special. We’re introducing the Pickle Burger!

It’s a quarter-pound burger loaded with:
- Dill relish
- Sliced Dill pickles
- Dill potato chips (on the burger for that extra crunch!)
- A shot of cool ranch dressing

It’s tangy, salty, and exactly what you need to fuel up between games.

We want to wrap up this season by coming together as a community. Please mark your calendars for our very special Upward Sunday celebration:

When: Sunday, March 22nd
Time: 11:00 AM - Kids to be dropped off to designated rooms 15 minutes prior to the service. Details to follow!

Hi Upward Basketball Families,

Hard to believe we are already heading into Week 4! The energy on the courts has been fantastic, and it’s been a joy watching the players grow in their skills and sportsmanship each week.

As we gear up for Saturday, here are two quick updates you won't want to miss as well as the attwched game schedule:

​🌶️ This Week’s Café Special: The Chili Takeover!
​The Upward Café is serving up something warm and hearty this weekend. For just $1 extra, you can add chili to anything on the menu!

​Get creative with your game-day snacks:

​The Classics: Chili Dogs and Chili Cheeseburgers.
​The Favorites: Loaded Chili Fries or Nachos.
​The "Upward Secret": Pour it over a bag of Fritos or Doritos for a walking taco!
​Whatever you're craving, come by and see the café team for some amazing treats.

We want to make sure these season memories last, so we are planning to take team photos before the start of each game this weekend.

- These photos will be printed and gifted to each player at our end-of-season celebration!

- To make this happen, please ensure your player is in their full uniform and ready in their designated rooms 15mins before the start of their games. We will take photos on the court prior to the start of each game.

We are officially heading into Week 3, and the energy in the gym has been incredible! It has been a joy to watch our players’ weekly growth—not just in their skills on the court, but in their teamwork and sportsmanship. What an incredible opening week! It was wonderful to see the energy, sportsmanship, and talent on the courts this past weekend. Thank you all for making our first week of games such a huge success. We are already looking forward to seeing that momentum carry into Week 2!

We are finally here! This week marks the official start of games, and we are incredibly excited to see all the kids out on the court—whether they are driving the lane in basketball or leading the spirit in cheerleading. It’s going to be a fantastic atmosphere.

To ensure everything runs smoothly for our first game day, please review a few quick reminders below:

⏰ Arrival Time Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled game time. When you arrive, please look for the signage in the gym foyer which will direct you to the designated meeting rooms. Coaches will be there to gather their teams for a quick huddle before taking the court.

🍔 Café Special: Don’t worry about lunch or snacks—we’ve got you covered! Our Café Lead, Matt Shipman, has whipped up a special menu item for our opening week: Rodeo Burger - a juicy burger topped with onion rings, cheese, and BBQ sauce!

Be sure to stop by the café to grab a bite and support the program!
