What do you do when you go unnoticed?

We ask ourselves today what we do when we are left wondering does anyone really care?

Does all this giving really matter, what’s the reward in all of it, where’s the validation at?

It’s really difficult to not seek the approval of man, and focus just on the approval of God.

When the text message goes unread and with no answer, when the group discussion doesn’t clap every time you talk, when no one’s patting you on the back, when your mission work doesn’t compare to another’s what do you do?

Do you get angry with yourself and God, do you give up because you haven’t received the validation you were looking for.

Scripture tells us that we will always be disappointed in human validation, it’ll never add up to what we were hoping for. We will always want it to go a different way, we will always want a better reaction from whoever we’re seeking it from.

Scripture ask ourselves a deep question

“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?”
John 5:44

When we seek our approval in men, we are looking to people for something we should be seeking from God. We’re basically putting our own glory above God’s glory. When we selfishly pursue our own ego-tickling, we are pushing God’s approval aside.

We’re basically saying “ God your approval isn’t worthy today”

“Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our mission remains in Jesus, as he showed us what tremendous strength he had by not taking the crown of Gold and Jewels while he was here but choose the crown of thorns.

“They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus didn’t merely reject recognition—He willingly accepted humiliation while remaining completely obedient to the Father.

We pray today for pure focus on God in all we do, we ask for humility and we ask for a mind that’s slow to react to no one validating us, we pray for the ability to focus on Gods will and not our own.

Active response was initiated to park car at Kohl’s, description and name of individual Trenton, approximately 20ish, long black hair and glasses. Not sure where he came from, but seems to be moving from Medford south into Owatonna, he’s in a red ford focus and the car is in working condition for now.

Please pray he changes his mind and heads home, he had a falling out with his parents and he’s got this plan to try to be homeless in Hawaii.

It seems he’s very unfamiliar with how to live homeless because he’s not taking a lot of precautions to stay under the radar.

We’re asking for prayer response only, the money will only fuel his idea of getting to Hawaii and we really don’t want him further away from his family wherever there at.

He has lots of items already so no need for clothing or item drop offs. At this point he needs prayer to change his mind and get back home.

He knows where the resources are but currently unable to understand how bad the car life can get. The weather is cooperating currently and so is his car but as soon as one of those things changes he’s in a bad situation.

Don’t stop prayer, if anything talk to him more and get details about his parents last names or his last name so we can make an effort to contact his parents.

He’s currently posted up at kohls and he’s not mentally unstable and he is approachable.

Believe the breakdown is preparing a breakthrough

Being courageous is a value most people have buried. The way the world wants you to operate currently doesn’t want you to be bold.

It wants you to bend and be molded by the way everyone else operates in society. We see this by accepting and acknowledging all sorts of flawed thinking and behavior.

Most of us wake up every day fully convinced that we’re leading good lives. We check the box on certain things while manipulating ourselves and others into thinking we’ve got it all together.

The truth is, we are all broken. The world wants your heart away from Christ. It wants you to focus on climbing the ladder—whatever that might look like for you, whatever you’re currently trying to put at the top and reach.

Our selfishness is fueled daily. It takes a courageous person to bring Christ into that world. What if that looks like bringing Christ to your marriage that never had Him before, your work life, or your family?

Are you prepared to be labeled by society as some Jesus freak?

Can you handle the truth that the world really doesn’t want God or Jesus in it?

That you’re going to be fighting daily with your mind, asking yourself, “Is this walk worth it?”

Remember what Paul said:

“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It takes a bold person to show up to the world every day and be able to bring the message of Christ’s love to people’s feet and just leave it there…. We put a lot of hope, as Christians, in the simple fact that telling people Jesus loves them will spark a relationship with Him.

Isn’t it discouraging when you’re met with pushback and not a push forward?

We have to remember the Lord doesn’t have human boundaries. He breaks walls we can’t seem to get through, and He heals people’s hearts.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We don’t need to worry about solving everyone’s sin behavior and shaming them into following Jesus. He never preached that way.

Instead, meet them where they’re at, show the light of the true message of Christ, and let Jesus take over from there.

Step out today in a new light, carry the message into the darkness in your life, and love up on someone today who pushed you back before.

Our mother ministry Freedom Inn His Grace down in Mason city has two housing units. The beacon is three stories with bedrooms, kitchen and worship spaces. It operates as a warming shelter during cold months. We just added a women’s only section ! It’s incredible what Gods doing down in Iowa.

The other housing unit is a men’s only housing where men graduate into once they complete the program set up at the main shelter.

Me ( Jay) and my wife ( Lindsey) are the founders of The Narrow Path we work separate from our mother organization up here in Minnesota, we also are not affiliated with any large church even though we both go to Bethel Church in Owatonna.

The Narrow Path is hoping for a soft launch in March of 2027 currently we are just listed as a LLC we are not a non-profit organization. We are still working on trademarking our logo and some other details before we try to launch a e-commerce website for our Christian gift shop and devotional books.

We are a Christ centered organization, so we go where the Holy Spirit leads us, we don’t have a large backing behind us, everything comes out of our own pocket.

I show you the other ministry photos just to let you know that we do come from a background of success, even though our success only matters to Christ through carrying our cross and helping other people with theirs.

We are not a “works based” faith organization, we know that Jesus came and died for our sins so he can have a relationship with us, and that our salvation is already paid for. We just are hoping to have a Christian based influence on people around Owatonna.

Currently our work is centered around the unhoused community, but what we really love to do is tell people how much Jesus wants a relationship with them, and that he will heal.

We hope to have prayer walks, testimonies events, community food events, worship nights, and small prayer groups. But we will be looking to invest first in a space we can do all this in. Until then we will be doing these events wherever the Lord leads us!

We hope this helps put faces to the organization and we also hope you stop and chat with us if you see us around Owatonna, we would love to hear how Jesus brought you home to him.
