In the Anglican Church, Pentecost is one of the most significant and joyous principal feasts of the liturgical year. Falling 50 days after Easter, it commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the early Christian community in Jerusalem, as described in the Book of Acts. Red is the official liturgical color of the day and it’s our tradition to wear red. It symbolizes the "tongues of fire" that rested upon the Apostles and represents the Holy Spirit's enduring energy and love.
