Vertical Church

Vertical Church Join us in person and online Sunday mornings at 9:00am & 10:45am!

As members of Vertical Church, we give our lives to lift up Jesus and live Him out in our homes, community, and world. We seek to protect our unity, share in the responsibility of ministry, serve one another, seek Him above all else, and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Before we prayed for the future, we thanked God for the faithfulness of the past.

As Ms. Carol Edwards prayed over our church, it was a powerful reminder that the work of God in Ovilla stretches across generations. The foundation we stand on today was built through years of prayer, sacrifice, and faithful obedience.

What God has done in the past gives us confidence for what He is doing today and what He will do in the days ahead.
We serve a God who is faithful from generation to generation.

A great night with our Young Adults.

Good conversations, lots of laughter, and time spent together around God’s Word.

Promotion Wednesday is this week!

We are taking over the Worship Center with a full worship band, Raising Cane’s, new Wednesday Club hats ($15), and a night you will not want to miss.

If there has ever been a Wednesday night to bring a friend, this is it.

We will also be officially welcoming our incoming 7th graders into Vertical Youth as they join us for their very first Wednesday night.

Parents, make note that we will not be meeting in the Main Street Center. All students will meet in the Worship Center.

Wednesday at 6:15PM

Some people have spent years seeing themselves through labels that were handed to them by pain, trauma, disappointment, or what others said they would always be.

But the Holy Spirit comes to do a new thing.

He removes the spirit of heaviness, clothes His people with praise, and teaches them to see life not through the lens of their wound, but through the wonder of a Savior who is healing them.

We are so thankful to have this recap from an incredible week of VBS!

It is a blessing to be able to look back on these moments and celebrate all that God did in the lives of children, families, volunteers, and leaders throughout the week.

Some Christians talk as though the Holy Spirit’s only job is to comfort them in their weakness.

The Holy Spirit does much more than that.

He transforms.
He strengthens.
He conforms us to the image of Christ.

You are not just limping through life.
You are more than a conqueror through Him.

Last night at Coffee & Conversation, we heard a powerful testimony of God’s healing and restoring work.

With incredible vulnerability, Britni shared how God brought healing to some of the deepest wounds of her life. What the enemy meant for destruction, God has redeemed through His grace, His presence, and His restoring power.

As she shared, we were reminded that the Holy Spirit still heals wounded hearts and transforms lives. The story God is writing in Britni, Josh, and their family is a beautiful picture of Isaiah 61:3:
“To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning...”

We are grateful for their willingness to share what God has done. What was once marked by pain now points to the faithfulness of God.

These Sunday nights have become one of our favorite parts of the week. Seeing adults gather around God’s work in people’s lives, 5th and 6th graders build friendships and grow in their faith, and children being cared for and invested in.

There will be no Coffee & Conversation next week due to Father’s Day, but will be back on June 28.

This week, we are praying for God to do what only He can do.

Pray for open doors and closed doors.
Pray for favor with local leaders and municipalities.
Pray for the Spirit of God to draw people to Jesus.
Pray for laborers to be raised up for the harvest.
Pray for faith to believe God for greater things.
Pray for clear direction as we seek His will for the future of Vertical Church.

As we pray together, let us ask boldly, believe confidently, and trust God to lead every step.

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20

Before the message began, two generations led us in prayer.

Ms. Carol prayed representing the generations whose faith, prayers, and sacrifice helped lay the foundation we stand on today.
Parker prayed representing the generation that is growing in faith and preparing to carry the Gospel into the future.

What a reminder that God is faithful from generation to generation. We honor those who have gone before us, and we believe God is raising up those who will come after us.

"The generation to come shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts." Psalm 145:4
