This week’s sermon challenged us to think about the relationship between faith and obedience. Focusing on James 2, we examined the powerful statement, “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26), and the examples of Abraham and Rahab, whose actions demonstrated the sincerity of their faith.
The lesson emphasized that obedience does not earn salvation, but true faith naturally responds to God’s commands. Just as Abraham’s willingness to obey and Rahab’s courageous actions revealed their trust in God, our faith should be visible in the way we live.
As we continued our study on baptism, we were reminded that baptism is not about earning God’s grace, but about responding to Him in faithful obedience. Genuine faith is more than belief alone—it is a faith that acts.
This week, consider: Does my life reflect the faith I profess? How am I putting my trust in God into action?
