Youth Group meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Overton First Christian Church basement.

Tonight was our last youth group for the school year! We enjoyed some great food, played games, shared a message and prayed together one last time! (For the year🙃) This group is amazing! They bring joy! They serve others! They show up for each other! We celebrated our seniors! So many good memories remembered! Thank you seniors for all you have contributed to this group! Thank you parents for sharing your kids with us! Thank you Village of Overton for the mission opportunities and for allowing us to use the Family Center tonight! Thank you Overton Christian Church for providing us a place to meet each week! Thank you Overton Methodist church for the training opportunities! Thank you Westmark church for sending disciples to provide lessons for our group and for the opportunity to experience Challenge! Thank you to all the speakers who have come to share with us! Thank you Jan Treffer Thompson for all your help this year! We appreciate you so much! Thank you Sarah Martin for helping lead this group! This year has been fun! We saw a lot of growth in mindsets, maturity, and numbers! God is good! Congratulations Wyatt Kyle for winning the final hot seat of the year with a verse from 1 Samuel. We started last night with a reminder of who God says we are. Then Jan had an amazing lesson about reading the Bible. Reading the Bible is an important part of getting to know God. You need to read it to learn and gain knowledge. However if you don't understand what you are reading, it doesn't have the meaning it should. Jesus is a great story teller. He uses imagery and metaphors to explain his "lessons". We enjoyed reading and discussing some of his Parables about sharing the word. Thank you Jan Treffer Thompson for an engaging lesson! Thank you Chloe for the above Bible verse! Thank you Justin Hodgson for joining us to sing a few songs! We really enjoyed our worship time! Last Wednesday was a great night focused on learning and teaching. They shared Bible verses with this theme and were able to enjoy an egg hunt with a special resurrection message! Thank you Jan Treffer Thompson for planning the egg hunt and providing the meal! Thank you Sarah Martin for leading the group! Tonight I asked the group to tell me about Jesus. Below are the verses they shared.

Tonight Campus Ministries from UNK came to talk with our group about what come after high school. How do you stay connected? How do you continue to grow in your faith? They gave us a lot of great information and answered questions too!

Tonight we had a disaster preparedness training. We learned how the emergency personel groups work that go help after natural disasters....what the protocols are....how we can help if its something we are called to do. We received some great information. Thank you Pastor Venideth for setting it up. Thank you Mark Nelson for coming and hanging out with us tonight. I appreciate your willingness to roll with the unexpected. Thank you Gabriel Tiller for joining us tonight! Thank you Hayley Ryan for the delicious lasagna, garlic bread and fresh fruit! Tonight Mitchell came to share about Jesus' crucifixion. We discussed the barrier sin puts in between us and God. Mitchell challenged the group to think about why we share the good news of the resurrection. Thank you Mitchell for the great lesson and discussions! Tonight Trey came to share his story and a lesson with us. The story tonight taught us about suffering and obedience. Thank you Trey for answering God's call to share your story. Tonight Pastor Ryan joined us to talk about the Last Supper. He said we were going to "Nerd out" in the Bible. And we did!
