We belong to something bigger...
Recently, State Director of Foster Care Lauren Belcher visited Heritage Elementary School to speak to students at their Middle School Career Day. She shared about ABCS as a whole and the work we do with foster kids and families throughout the state. Lauren also brought her daughter to Career Day, and she talked to the students about volunteer work. The kids were fascinated by what Lauren and her daughter shared, and they asked some challenging questions. The students wrote a reflection on Career Day, and many of them wrote about how important it is to have βa heart for others.β Their teacher emailed Lauren afterward saying that her students really appreciated how Lauren brought her daughter so they could hear about how someone close to their age could get involved. They loved learning about a faith-based organization in their local community that is making a real impact. No matter your age, you can support foster families in your community.
