Today, we celebrate Native American Awareness Sunday and welcome Gerald Savage as our guest speaker. Gerald is the grandson of Chief Walks with the Wind of Starved Rock, Chief White Winnebago. Gerald was born and raised in the HoChunk ways in the Illinois Valley. Gerald gives us a Native American's perspective of Earth Day. Here's the link:

What is Jesus' Palm Sunday message to us this Palm Sunday 2022? Today's is a rather atypical Palm Sunday message. We're focusing on our interdependence and not our independence. We're joining the multitudes who praise God for such an extravagant, radical love! Let's enter this Holy Week with Jesus and continue on our journey to the cross and beyond...

Today we’ll hear how the Prodigal Son lives high on the hog until famine strikes in the land of his dream vacation. So the prodigal son heads home, tail between his legs, expecting he’s lost it all. To his surprise, his epic failure is met with extravagant love and grace. We can be pretty hard on ourselves especially when things don’t go as planned. Guilt, shame, and our fear of being seen as a failure can leave us wallowing in our own pig pens of regret. Our delusions of a perfectible life can keep us disappointed in ourselves. And, into all of those life circumstances, God speaks love and grace.

We're continuing in our "Good Enough" worship series! Today, we're
looking at what it means to let go of our expectations of a perfect life and faith. Today has us taking a look at another harmful idea, the harmful idea that working harder, trying harder is the only prescription to remedy our feelings of unworthiness and our fear of failure. You're invited to worship our Divinely Patient God!

Please pray for Jennifer and Rajeev and Orrell's entire family. Former Pastor Orrell died this afternoon from cancer. He's been reunited with his wife and daughter in heaven, a place of eternal peace and love! As Jennifer said, "His life was dedicated to spreading the Christian message of love. I hope you all will keep sharing the love. Peace be with you all!" Peace be with the Ruth family! ❤🙏

TODAY'S SCRIPTURES
*Be happy in your hope, stand your ground when you’re in trouble, and devote yourselves to prayer. Romans 12: 12

*“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23

*“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” - Psalm 37:7

*“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” - I Corinthians 13:4

*“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” - Galatians 6:9

PRAYER
Lord today we thank You for any patience we might muster. So much these days, Lord, tests our patience. Patience is definitely not something that comes naturally to us. Patience is a blessing, a gift from Your Loving Spirit. Thank You for equipping us with any patience we might show for challenging people and circumstances in our life. Many times, things do not happen the way we plan or in the timing we'd like. But, now Lord God, we surrender our desire to control the people and happenings in our life to You. Help us have Your patience, Your peace and Your contentment even when our circumstances do not change, even when our circumstances are painfully hard. Waiting on You is just so hard. We're not so good at waiting, either, Lord. But, ultimately we know so much of life is out of our control and yet, You walk with us through it all. Give us the ability to see life through Your perspective, a sacrificial and loving perspective, an eternal perspective. We only want to love others as You love us, with a love that is so patient and so kind and so perfect, it casts out our every fear. Lord, we know we can't be so patient, kind and loving on our own, with our own strength. We need Your strength to patiently love so unconditionally. We love You Lord. Help us love like you. Even when we are waiting on You and do not see an end to the suffering, we trust You with every detail of our life. We trust because of Jesus, your best example of patient love. Amen
Peace & Love, Pastor Cheri

FACEBOOK friends! We've been notified our "old" Facebook account is being shut down April 12th. Just letting you know that we're going to TRY to move all the information from this account to our "new" account. That said, we're hoping for success BUT we're skeptical that ALL WILL NOT BE LOST! Is it appropriate to ask for prayers for our Facebook account transition? All this to say, please continue to follow this page for updates on the transition process...And, all I really wanted to do today was set up a Spaghetti Lunch & Supper event! Such is social media life! Carrying on yesterday's message, it's OUT of MY CONTROL!
