Have you ever felt like you're not quite Christian enough? Like you need to work harder to earn your place in God's kingdom?

Jesus has something revolutionary to say about that. When He looked at His followers, He didn't give them a to-do list or a spiritual improvement plan. Instead, He made a simple declaration: "You are the salt of the earth and you are the light of the world." Notice He didn't say "you might become" or "if you try hard enough, perhaps you'll be." He said "you are." This is your identity in Christ, not your aspiration. The moment you placed your faith in Jesus, you became salt and light. It's not about your performance or your spiritual maturity level. It's about what Christ has already done in you. You don't have to strive to become something you already are. This truth should bring incredible relief and confidence. You're not trying to earn God's love or prove your worth. You're simply living out the reality of who He's already made you to be. Your identity is secure in Him.

Congrats to the high school graduates! May God lead you and bless you in this next season! 🙌🏻

Hello CCO Family,
This Sunday we'll continue our Upside Down Kingdom series as we explore one of Jesus' most well-known teachings from Matthew 5:13-16:

"You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world."

In a culture that is constantly pulling us in different directions, Jesus calls His followers to something different. We are called to preserve what is good, bring healing to what is broken, and shine the light of Christ into a world that desperately needs hope.

We'll look at what it means to be people who influence the world around us—not through power, popularity, or performance, but through lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus Christ.

This Sunday will also be a special opportunity as we recognize and pray over our graduates as they step into a new season of life. As they move beyond the familiar influences of family, church, and youth ministry, we'll be reminded that the greatest preserving and guiding force in any believer's life is the presence of the Holy Spirit and a daily walk with Jesus.

Whether you're graduating, raising a graduate, or simply seeking to follow Jesus more faithfully, this message is for you.

Join us this Sunday as we discover what it means to live as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Dan

In a culture that celebrates self-made success and personal achievement, Jesus begins His most famous teaching with a shocking statement: the spiritually bankrupt are blessed. Being poor in spirit isn't about lacking confidence or having low self-esteem. It's about recognizing that we have nothing to offer God on our own merit. This acknowledgment of our spiritual emptiness becomes the doorway to experiencing God's fullness. When we stop trying to impress God with our goodness and instead come with empty hands, we create space for Him to fill us with His grace.

Self-sufficiency may seem like strength, but it actually becomes the greatest barrier to genuine faith. God delights in filling empty vessels, but He cannot pour into hearts already overflowing with pride and self-reliance.

This summer we will journey through the greatest sermon ever preached -

Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount!

In a world full of noise, false promises, division, anxiety, and shallow answers, Jesus invites us into a radically different way of living: a life rooted in humility, mercy, trust, forgiveness, and wholehearted devotion to God. Each week, we’ll discover more about what it means to live as citizens of the “Upside Down Kingdom,” where true blessing, real freedom and healthy relationships are found not in chasing the world’s values, but in following the way of Jesus. Whether you are new to faith or have walked with Christ for years, this series will challenge, encourage, and call each of us deeper into the life Jesus offers.

This Sunday we begin with Matthew 5:1-12, the section known as the Beatitudes. It will challenge our understanding of what it means to be blessed!

Remember, if you’re gone on vacation you can always catch it online. You won't want to miss this series!
