Becoming - Oswego

Thank you to PrairieFest for allowing Becoming Oswego and Oswego Masjid to host a worship service on Sunday morning on the festival grounds. This hasn't been done in years and we were so thrilled to be a part of it. We had two Becoming church leaders (Julie and Kari) speak, as well as the founder of the mosque, Aqib. He and Pastor Pat discussed how we can be in community together and help serve the needs of people in Kendall County. There was a question and answer time from those attended and we did a service project together assembling summer themed blessing bags. Thanks to all who attended! We can do better when we work together!

Join us at 10 am for a community discussion and service project!
There will be handicap parking right along Plank Dr and the main parking area is indicated by the red P on the map. No matter where you park, you'll enter at the yellow star area. Our Interfaith service will be at the Family Tent which is the red circled "6" area on the map.
We can't wait to see you then!!

Last Friday, Pastor Pat and Kari Reiseck attended the Northern Illinois Synod Assembly at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. They listened to some amazing speakers and participated in important voting for the future of our synod. They also had a table at the Ministry Fair and got to meet with several other pastors and church members from all over Northern Illinois. We look forward to some great new partnerships stemming from this event!

June's Faith on the Move continues as we get ready to worship at Prairiefest this Sunday. Becoming - Oswego Church & Masjid Abu Bakr - Oswego Masjid invite the whole community to join us for an open dialogue about faith, service, and finding common ground while honoring the beliefs and identities that make our community diverse. This service will be a great way to come together as ONE OSWEGO!

We will also do a service project together assembling Summer themed blessing bags to distribute to the un-housed in our area or whomever needs them!

That's a wrap for the Aurora Pride Parade - We had an amazing time celebrating with other local faith communities, friends from the Aurora, IL Warming Shelter , Becoming members and their friends/family.
The interfaith worship service at New England Congregational was beautiful and the shared leadership among 7 faith communities was spirit-filled.

Marching in the parade together was joyful and affirming for everyone. The crowd was filled with rainbows and so positive. Thank you to all the organizations, politicians, churches and community groups that participated and helped make it such a loving day!
