At Bethlehem, we believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, died an innocent death, and rose again to pay for the sins of the world. Through faith in Jesus' saving work, we inherit eternal life in heaven. We learn of this in the Bible, God's own words to us, so that "by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31). In everything we do at Bethlehem, the focus is put on Christ. Whether you're

at one of our liturgical worship services or at one of our Bible classes, you can be sure that you'll hear God's Word in its truth and purity. Come and see God working through his Word and Sacraments! "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Clean up from winter storm Elsa has been difficult and slow. Bethlehem's parking lots are NOT cleared as of mid-evening on Tuesday, March 17, and we do not have a specific promised time when they will be completed. Also, the snow in front of the church is too much for a snowblower to clear, so that also will be cleared by the snow removal company. At this time, Bethlehem's building is nearly impossible to enter.

Meanwhile, the parking lot and sidewalks at Faith Lutheran Church (1745 Ohio Street) are cleared and the building is accessible. Here is is the plan for tomorrow, March 18:

--Morning worship at Faith Lutheran at 10:00 AM. If you are able to worship in the morning, please join us at Faith.

--NO Evening worship at Bethlehem.

Perhaps we were being a bit too optimistic about having snow cleaned up by 10:00 AM on Tuesday! Pastor isn't even sure he can make it across the parking lot to enter church today. With that in mind, Bible Class for Tuesday is cancelled. Hope we can make it out for worship on Wednesday. Stay tuned!

Winter storm Elsa is on her way and will leave up to a foot of snow on Oshkosh between 7:00 PM (3/14) and Monday afternoon (3/16).

Heeding the warning that TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED during this time, Sunday worship for March 15 is canceled. Please stay home and be safe.

We plan to have Bible Class at its usual time of 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17.

Plan ahead to join us for Midweek Lenten worship on Wednesday, March 18, at Faith Lutheran (10:00 AM) or Bethlehem (6:00 PM).

The Wisconsin Street construction project is nearly completed. This afternoon a paving crew installed the asphalt patches at BOTH entrances to our parking lot. The use of our parking lot is now back to normal! Thank you for nearly six months of patience.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Crews continue restoring the sidewalk and driveways along Wisconsin Street. This morning they "switched sides" for the open driveway to our parking lot. Please use the NORTH ENTRANCE to the parking lot. That is, the one closest to the parsonage. It is still advisable to approach from the corner of New York Avenue and Wisconsin Street.

Wisconsin Street Construction Update (6/23/2023) ...
The east side of Wisconsin Street is paved. Our parking lot on Wisconsin Street is currently accessible from the corner of New York and Wisconsin by driving on the east side (paved side) and then crossing over to the church lot at the south entrance. Pastor just spoke with the foreman of the construction crew from Vinton Construction. He has agreed to close our Wisconsin Street lot from Monday, June 26-Friday, June 30. This will allow the west side of Wisconsin Street to be fully paved. Access to our lot will then re-open in time for services on Sunday, July 2.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

Utility work by Wisconsin Public Service on our end of Wisconsin Street was finished today. Sanitary sewer installation between W. New York Avenue and Annex Avenue begins on Monday, March 20.

Our Wisconsin Street parking lot is still fully accessible. Please approach from the corner of New York Avenue.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11--

Worship is still being conducted at 9:00 AM for all able to attend.

The annual congregational meeting (10:15 AM) and Chicken Dinner (11:30 AM) have been postponed until Sunday, December 18.

Happy 104th Birthday to Bethlehem's most senior member. Ruth still has a party each year to celebrate her birthday. Her pastor enjoys their visits every-other Friday, and knows that only the best is awaiting Ruth in the future!
