From the Pastor's Desk, which group are you in, the carnal or the sanctified?

A verse from the Bible Box, Mark 16:8 KJV "And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said anything to any man; for they were afraid."
From the Pastor's Desk, fear is an immobilizing tactic of human nature and a tool of the devil. They were afraid to say anything to anyone because they were afraid. Has fear kept you quiet and afraid to share your testimony about what Jesus Christ has done in your life. If so, you are robbing yourself from Christian experience fulfillment, and missing an opportunity to plant a seed for God's glory and the advancement of His Kingdom. I have stepped out and shared what a risen savior has done in my life. That has been outside the preaching pulpit. A number of people have repented and given their lives to Christ because I didn't let fear stop me from saying something. Go say something to someone about your risen savior.

A verse from the Bible Box, 2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars."
From the Pastor's Desk, Is He looking for you? Has He found you? He wants you to know, see, and realize His strength. Notice other verses that speak of the eyes of the Lord, Matthew 9:36, He saw the crowds and was moved with compassion. He sees you, He knows what you are going through. Mark 10:21, Jesus looked upon a man and loved him. This describes him dealing with a man and some eternal decisions that need to be made. Revelation 1:14, 2:18. And 19:12 all speak of Christ having eyes as a flame of fire. That is all seeing, comprehending eyes, symbolizing divine purity, omniscience, and righteous judgment.

From the Pastor's Desk, do you listen more to and can sing along with Country and Western singers, more than you can sing and know Christian and Gospel songs? Are you one of those that knows and can quote all the sport heroes and their stats, but don't know the books of the Bible, or could not quote more than three Bible verses?
Do you know more and talk about the latest trends, and all about the lives of your sport and movie idols; rather than know about the heroes and heroines, those who are champions of God's Word?
To be honest; has the love of the world replaced a close and vibrant walk with the Lord? Have you checked lately to see if you are abiding in the love of the Father or is that missing?

A verse from the Bible Box, Hebrews 10:23-25 KJV "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Vs 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Vs 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
From the Pastor's Desk, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;" Why have you been laying out of church services? Why do you find it so easy to make the least excuse not to go, and then skip church again.
You are exhorted to go to meet together, and that much the more the closer we get to Christ's return. There is friendship, guidance, and the fellowship and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Listen to what Jesus and the Word of God warns and says about the church in the last days. Some will lose their first love for Jesus, and not go. Some will have a form of godliness and deny the power thereof, and not go. Some will have a name that they live and are dead spiritually, happy to be a vocabulary Chrirtian, yet not go. If this describes you, you need to do some deep reflection, pray and get back to church.

A verse from the Bible Box, 1 Kings 19:12 KJV "And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."
From the Pastor's Desk, Have you heard the small still voice in a while? Take time from the excitement of life and the earthquake attention getting elements of life. Even the unexpected focus grabbing surprise of the fires of life, can rob you of the solitude that is needed to hear from God. Take time, make time, get quiet and listen for the small still voice.

A verse from the Bible Box, Isaiah 55:6-9 KJV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Vs 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Vs 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Vs 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
From the Pastor's Desk, what a precious promise, and what amazing words. Be sure you are experiencing them, even now.

A verse from the Bible Box, 1Thessalonians 4:16-18 KJV "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Vs 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Vs 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
From the Pastor's Desk, Jesus has fulfilled the early feasts of the Spring time. The next on the docket is to fulfill the remaining fall feasts. That is what today's verse is about. Let me ask you, if this was to happen this fall are you absolutely sure and confident that your heart is clean and prepared? The scripture warns us that in the last days some, "will have a form of godliness but deny the power there of," another warning says, "thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead." It will take more than a vocabulary religion.
What a great joy when the trumpet sounds and the shout of the Lord takes place. But, it will be the most devastating day to live through if you are unprepared. Be prayed up, be watching, and be prepared.
