Eucharist Stolen from City-Wide Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel

The evening of Friday, December 29, 2023, the Holy Eucharist was stolen from the Oshkosh Adoration Chapel located at the Most Blessed Sacrament Saint Mary site (
605 Merritt Ave
).
The Oshkosh parishes are working diligently with the Oshkosh Police Department and the Diocese of Green Bay to investigate the event and find the perpetrator. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Oshkosh Police Department non-emergency number at (920) 236-5700.
The adoration chapel will remain closed until the investigation is complete and a robust security solution is identified.

Because we believe Jesus is truly present - body, blood, soul and divinity - in the consecrated host at Mass, the host that was stolen is not simply bread, but Jesus himself. When viewed in this light, it pains us to hear or witness offenses against the Eucharist. It is not an offense against a piece of bread, but an offense against the One we love with all of our heart, Jesus Christ.
In order to repair the spiritual damage done in such a situation, the Church recommends prayers of reparation. This type of prayer can be thought of as a “prayer of love,” proclaiming to Jesus the love you have for him, even when others reject him. These prayers provide an opportunity to recognize the damage sin has upon the world and to repair it by our acts of love. Read more:

Prayer of Reparation for Offenses Against the Eucharist
O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. And by the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.
